Volkswagen Virtus Review
(
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/official-new-car-reviews/251477-volkswagen-virtus-review-166.html)
This is the updated price list as per December 2024. On road prices are as per Mumbai.
And here are the brochures for GT plus sport and GT plus chrome. I understand, there is a lot of confusion between these two variants. Hope this helps.

I visited VW showroom 1-2 days back to check discounts being offered on Virtus. No discount was offered on GT variants. VW official website shows about ₹90k discount on GT variants, but dealers are not giving any discount.
There are some discounts offered on 1.0 TSI.
I was told below by salesperson
1. All exterior chrome elements are blacked out in GT sport.
2. GT Chrome gets black seats and beige roof liner.
3. Both GT and GT+ get all color combinations including dual tone colors.
Previously GT and GT+ both were available with 1.5 MT and 1.5 DSG. This made GT variants performance oriented because of 1.5 TSI. The newly
GT-Line variant gets 1.0 TSI engine with MT and TC AT gearbox. This GT-Line variant is causing more confusion in the mix, and I am not sure if there will be takers for this as 1.0 TSI MT and AT is already available in Highline, Highline+ and Topline.
I am not sure why Virtus GT was launched with 1.0 engine when it is already available in other variants. 1.0 GT engine tuning is same

It allows for the non chrome version with blacked out design similar to the GT Sport.
Folks, I need help.
I purchased a Virtus 1.0 Topline AT last December at PPS Nagawara, BLR. They were offering a roughly 60K discount, 4 years of SVP, and 12K worth of accessories. My overall experience was largely decent, with only a few minor hiccups before and after the purchase.
Last week, I took the vehicle for its 1st-year service at KUN (since they are closer to my current location). They mentioned that they couldn’t find any record of the SVP and asked me to provide the document. This had happened during the second "Swagat" as well, and I had shared the printout I received for the SVP, which resolved the issue. I shared the same printout with KUN. The KUN CRM asked me to reach out to the PPS CRM for faster resolution.
When I contacted PPS CRM, they asked me for the Sales Contract Form, where the SVP field was left blank. I explained that I had the same question, but I was directed to the SVP purchase invoice printout during the initial purchase.
Now, PPS CRM has gotten back to me after a day, stating that there are no records on their side regarding the SVP purchase. They mentioned that the sales executive who handled my case was allegedly let go due to suspicious or unlawful practices, about a month after my purchase. I only have the invoice copy from PPS, which includes the invoice number, date, and other details.
Has anyone else encountered a similar issue with their SVP records, or does anyone have advice on how I can resolve this?

Even that variant doesn't show up on the website anymore GT DSG, which is lower than GT+ DSG.
Not sure if there is some old stock. |
I believe it is still available. Here are the differences.

If you have the proper receipts of the SVP, may be you can call up Volkswagen India and raise a complaint.
I didn't buy the SVP, but had an issue with refund for booking cancellation from PPS Hebbal. I raised a complaint and issue was sorted within a couple of days.

Yes Please. That would be super helpful.

For a moment I did think of the GT 1.5 dsg but I felt the 1.0 AT to be more than sufficient for my bangalore traffic use case. I had booked the GT line variant at first but it was not available in lava blue colour so in the end went with the topline. |
Did you buy in November or December?
I see Taigun has better offers on 1.5 models (Almost 2.5Lakhs), not much on the 1.0 models.
If you don't mind, could you please share if you were given considerable discounts for the 1.0 Topline?

VW official site shows discounts close to ₹1.6 lakh on Topline 1.0 AT.
I had conversation with one dealership that I am good with 1.0 AT in any color. They have not given me a quote on best price available.
I got to test drive Topline 1.0 AT last month. My observations after 1.0 AT test drive
- The chassis and suspension are spot on. I definitely got some goosebumps, and the car brought back the smile and grin when I used to drive my Polo 1.6 GT TDI.
- The steering feedback was good, and I could take the curves with confidence driving at 65 kmph.
- 1.0 AT accelerated nicely within city traffic. There were no jerky movements. My previous test drive of 1.0 AT was from another showroom and that car felt jerky when I gave throttle inputs.
- The suspension felt to be on stiffer side as compared to Verna.
- I could hear some creaking noise or sound of releasing brakes inside the cabin. Could this be an issue with test drive car?
- Only FM radio was played and that too at low volume. I did not get opportunity to test sound setup and speaker performance as my focus was to experience the Virtus.
- I could press the roof liner with my finger and got feeling there was some empty space between the roof liner and the car top as the roof liner went in about 1 cm or so.
- The plastic feel and quality of cabin light switches on the roof and switches to operate window felt bad. The switches did not give me a built to last feel. VW needs to give better touch points and switches to their 2.0 products.
- The steering felt nice to hold. The design of 3 spoke steering is great and I felt comfortable to hold the steering with my regular driving style. (Skoda needs to go back to 3 spoke steering wheel design on Slavia as 2 spoke steering on Slavia felt uncomfortable to me).

Indeed, Virtus offers are 1.6L on Topline and 1.9L on Highline per the website, but they don't usually translate to almost equal cash offers like Taigun, since I am not eligible for corporate or loyalty bonus.
I am getting around 40K scrap value for my 15yr old car, 20K scrappage bonus, and 10-15k from dealer margin for 1.0 Virtus.
This doesn't bring Topline AT within a good budget range for me, so I am hoping the GT Line AT/ Highline Plus AT quote comes around 15.8-16L OTR Pune.
I had started my search with the i20 NLine MT, but now I guess I can push till 16-17L OTR, anything further will be a big stretch.
That is why I was hoping the Topline AT discounts would work in my favour, but doesn't seem so yet. lol:
VW Pune says Highline isn't in stock anywhere, and production may be stopped soon for it.
I was actually asking VRod_24 about what he was offered on the Taigun, just to get an idea of Taigun 1.0 discounts. Taigun 1.5 has great discounts, though.

I got to experience both Taigun and Virtus as showroom display cars. Unfortunately, Taigun did not tug my heart as much as Virtus. I need bigger boot for my weeklong road trips with family and trips back to my hometown.
Taigun GT sport definitely looks classy from front with no chrome elements. Taigun gives me feeling of sub 4m car and space inside felt lesser than Virtus. Taigun gets 1cm more ground clearance than Virtus, so did not find any other USP to go with Taigun.
