Thanks for your reply. I checked the app and could only find the owner's manual. I was looking for the manual that the factory/Service center people get on how to repair the car, the torque specs, where each item is located etc. Maybe it's called something else but I am sure a book like that exists.

That certificate won't be worth the paper it's printed upon. I fail to understand why people buy demo vehicles or even consider them. If someone cannot afford a new car, there is no harm in finding a neat old car or perhaps picking a newer car from a segment below. Enough has been said about the way sales guys themselves handle the demo car, and prospective customers :Frustrati

1. I apologise for my ignorance dear.
2. Am not much of a car enthusiast and very new to this forum too, hence maybe haven’t come across many threads or posts about this. I appreciate your effort to enlighten but it'll be more helpful if you could elaborate or maybe signpost to a particular thread or post that highlights the key issues like I've mentioned before.
3. Affordability with the almighty’s grace wasn’t the issue here it was just trying to get and appreciate the better value offering. I had never got this offering ever before. Had gone to get Petrol Platinum on the road 31.6L however the signature was offered at 25.5L.
My dad just needed a simple but refined and dependable petrol car with good rear seats and decent driving experience around 33L tops. Driving would be 60-70% city and rest highway. Nothing fancy. The segment below doesn't offer a good rear seat (Virtus, Verna, Creta et al.) and peers including 700 (heard not that dependable with regular electrical nags), Innova Hycross (great but not refined and not that good for city use). We shortlisted Tucson.
This particular demo car is being offered with 3-year warranty and 1-year insurance. This gives some assurance.
I do think that this is painted and they told me a tail lamp has been changed so probably my guess is the car was rear-ended or something. (Due to adas issues)
PDI appears fine. Hence, the call. Let me know if I can check anything else that can help.
Like a post above mentioned that it looks reasonable enough to consider at a price a little above creta etc.?
Rest, I am all ears and happy to learn more from you and appreciate pitfalls that I am unaware of :)

No no, my mistake if my message has come like that. I feel very sorry for people who consider Demo cars for small benefits :disappointed
I will suggest you check any demo car from this or any other dealership and see how the sales guys treat them, or just watch people who come to test drive. Or simply look at some of the demo cars which are in use and not dressed up to sell after use.

Probably I should have mentioned "budget". LG will always be more value offering than Sony.

I am not aware of the nomenclature on these cars, but I would rather pick a lower-end variant - brand new rather than a higher-trim demo, run by multiple people. Who knows what's actual mileage- will you trust such dealer with Speedo? or what is the condition of suspension? Did anyone do running in?

Your requirement is Toyota Innova - Crysta or HyCross. The only place to sit in the rear comfortably on this side of Rs 1,30 Cr (X7) is bench seats on either of these two cars.

That's very strange. Please do try once again. I have no experience with Tuscon but I don't think the rear seat of Innova twins can be matched by Tuscon.
Look there is a reason why Toyota has such a high resale, compare this with Tuscon.
Save all hassles for yourself and your dad and get him an Innova :)

It is otherwise called as technical manual which is not easily available. Why do you need that manual ?

The rear seat of the India spec LWB Tuscon is pure bliss and is atleast a couple of levels above the Hycross.
The hybrid Hycross with its battery positioning below the driver seat makes it impossible to slide the feet under the front seats, found it uncomfortable.
The (diesel) Tuscon is simply leagues ahead of the Innova twins, no comparison at all in all aspects based on personal experience. No wonder its an International best seller.

I am a big fan of a single seat in the rear. Am sure you must have seen many people sitting in front of the premium cars including Land Cruiser, which otherwise has a very good and comfortable rear seat. However, looks like there are people who like the rear bench. I was trying to pitch an X7 to one of our Company Directors but he found the X5 more comfortable :confused:

If someone wants to drive and use the rear, maybe, but if the use case scenario is the rear seat, I will pick an Innova/ HyCross - 10 out of 10 times. If you or someone else likes the rear bench, it's understandable and there is no right or wrong, it all comes from personal opinion. Our market is very different than overseas. Hardly any of the customers of Tuscon in the USA or other markets can afford a driver or their use case is sitting in the rear.
In our market, Innova twins sell over 15000 a month vs less than 150 of Tuscon. And I am pretty sure a large number of Innova buyers won't have any affordability issues to pick a Tuscon either.
I will still suggest OP go and do another round of test drives on HyCross, perhaps, the daily route back to back on both.

Mainly for curiosity purposes and being better prepared. Would read through it slowly and better understand what all the car consists of eventually making me better understand it and also be ready in case a repair is needed or to diagnose some issue. I would like to work on it too if it's in my comfort zone and within the limits of my tools.

That's a high ask and expectation from a modern car with so many electronics and sensors. Anyway, you can try some Korean sources/sites.

Where does it say that the consumables will be free. I was told that the consumables will be charged. Got mine done in 15 June and was charged 10k for everything you got done excluding the underbody coating.

Consumables are free. I've had 2 services till date and never paid for any consumables.
You can check the service cost on Hyundai app.

I got them checked at the last service and the advisor quoted a shelf life of another 5K kms(ODO will be at 75K). My primary runs have been on the BLR-MYS expressway. I did some checks on available options and would mostly go with 235/60/R18 Michelin Primacy SUV+, they are quoting 16.5K apiece. Will keep the thread updated.
