Hello Tucson Owners,

I am looking forward to replacing my car (S-Cross Zeta 1.3 Diesel - Nov 2015 Mfg with 55500kms run). I started with TDs of Creta (Petrol) and Vitara (Hybrid) and then did TD of Tucson; I'm still wondering about TDs of Harrier and Hycross (but there is too long a waiting time!)

While doing TDs, I am quite impressed with Tucson; I have been talking to a dealer in Pune for pricing. Looking for your expert insights on a couple of points:

Hello skrmv2 - Were you able to get a petrol Tucson for TD? If yes, which dealer had it?
Also, if you are open to the idea, I would like to have a quick call to understand your recent buying experience (dealer, things to watch for specifically, in the case of Tucson, and so on) and some things to watch out for. I can DM you my number (or you can share your number!)

Many of the dealers don't have petrol Tucson for TD; hence this question!
  • What kind of discounts should I stretch for? As mentioned, I am having a conversation with one of the dealers about the quote, and I am offered 250k (2.5 lakh) off on petrol as of now (I hope it will be the 2024 model—I need to confirm). Is this a good bargain? Should I try to stretch further?

1. There will be stark of differences between a petrol and diesel Tucson in terms of drivability, performance, mileage, etc. Other than that the diesel car will have a slightly heavy front nose compared to the petrol because of the heavy diesel engine. The petrol will be much smoother and refined. The petrol is NA vs turbo diesel - so the power delivery will be very linear in petrol with no turbo lag at all. In India, Tucson sells more only its diesel variants and that is the reason for no petrol TD cars with dealers. In India, Tucson gives its best only in its diesel form and not petrol.

2. Discounts depends on the dealer. However, make sure to negotiate on the insurance as well. The minimum discount for a diesel Tucson that you can expect is at least 2L on the on-road price including the insurance.

Hello sagara999, I got a Petrol Tucson TD from Kothari Hyundai. They have just 1 petrol Tucson which is a personal vehicle of the showroom owner. You may need to wait a bit for getting the TD, but if you pester enough, they will definitely arrange it.

Sure we can talk. Please DM me your number.

I was tied up with some work related stuff, hence the delay in response.

  • I am also offered 5 lakh for my existing car for exchange (S-Cross Zeta 1.3 Diesel - Nov 2015 Mfg with 55500kms run); is this a good value? Spinny quote was 5.35.

Kothari hyundai aundh branch has one owned by their MD, they provide for test drive if you are flexible with timing and persistent. I am not a owner but test driven both the engines couple of times hence sharing my observations,

PS- After multiple test drives across all the segments and trying out every possible option in 10-38L on road range, we went with XUV700 petrol AT and I am quite happy with the decision. Close contenders were Tucson Petrol, Hyryder hybrid, Taigun 1.0 - all automatics.

Dear All TeamBHPians,

I am seeking support from all of you after a very frustrating experience with my Hyundai Tuscon.

Bit of a context - I drive a 2023 Signature Diesel (my previous post - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offic...ml#post5559217) and its been just over a year, I have driven 7000+ kilometres in city and highway drives. I have been a true Hyundai fan and have owned i20, Creta and Tuscon, in that order, and my wife drives an i10.

Although I enjoy the drive, I have been having tickling noise in the dashboard since the first month that my SA is unable to fix. I have been frequenting Advait Hyundai Bellandur (Bangalore) show room since the first month of delivery and visited 4 times in the last year already, but the issue persists. Last time I left my car for 4 days, they connected with a HML expert and tried to fix the issues by attaching the dashboard parts with a 3M tape (as per them). :Frustrati

Its been a very frustrating experience and the only options I seem to have is either sell the car or escalate to HMIL. I was wondering if anyone has any positive experience with the escalation process so far. All your inputs and guidance will be very helpful.

Thank you in advance
A frustrated TeamBHPian

I am sorry to hear about your issue. I had a display flickering issue ( https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offic...ml#post5625114 ) The showroom/garage where I bought it from wasnt able to resolve it. I raise the issue to Hyundai via twitter, who promptly called up. The service center took the vehicle in for repairs, ordered a new center console, and replaced it. They gave me a replacement car during the duration of the repair. When these things get escalated to HMIL, the SC has to take it in writing from you that the issue is resolved, and only then they can close the case.

Please try the route and best of luck. If you are not happy with SC, you can speak to Hyundai and take your car to a different SC. Its under warranty and hence it should not matter which SC you take it to.

A question since the spare wheel is a "space saver". If there is enough space for the full size wheel then the lower specifications of spare wheel are to cut cost and not to save space.
If the full size wheel does not fit into the trunk due to less space then there is a different problem. Anyone tried fitting the full size wheel in the trunk for a diesel car?

Thank you so much, will try that route rightaway and keep this forum posted on the updates.

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to ask a few questions for our family car and was looking for people who have already researched/had experiences which they could share and help me take a better decision. Thought there might be more people like me and hence why not start a specific thread for the Hyundai Tucson 2022 where people can discuss/share experiences about needed or preference-based upgrades, accessories, things to take care about in the car. Everything that can help other owners take better care of the car and have a better experience with it. My family owns one Diesel model for the past one year. I have a few questions about the car and your experience/advice on it will be appreciated.

1. How much are you paying for the Insurance?
2. What Front and Rear Dashcam setup are you using?
3. Experience with getting the underbody protected for tougher terrain. Like skid plates and such.
4. Any Speaker system upgrades
5. Paint protection
6. Film coating on the windows, front and rear glass for the purpose of reducing head ingress into the cabin without reduction of visible light. Any water/dirt protection will also be welcomed in this case.
8. Accessories for the car. The American Hyundai website has a ton of accessories for the vehicle which I couldn't find on the indian website. Mainly I was looking for cycle racks.
7. Any technical/mechanical problem faced that you would like to share so that others can try and avoid or delay them?

Thank You for you time, experience and effort

Is the installation simple or do I need to take it to the service center/specialized shop?

Any issues with the warranty and such or have to get them fitted from the service centre itself?

1.My first year renewal costed me around the same mentioned by @mathan1130. 65K (HDFC Ergo).
2. I will be buying the 70mai A810 dual channel shortly.
3. Tucson is not a SUV or off-road car. And you cannot do underbody protection additionally which will further reduce the GC.
4. There is no limit to it when it comes to audio upgrade. It depends on how much you can spend and your need. Personally for me, for the cost of Tucson, this audio is absolutely basic and not good at all. Simple plug and play upgrades will not void the warranty. However, if your upgrade includes fuses, switches and other hardwires, then it may most likely void the warranty.
5. Again purely wallet dependant. If you can spend, go for it. But make sure you choose the right quality PPF.
6. Are you talking about sunfilms or something else? If its sunfilms, then it depends on your personal choice and how you want it to be. I chose 95% transparent motohunger brand for the entire car including front and back.
8. This again depends on your use case. For eg - cycle racks, there are quite a few brands that can be retro fitted. I never used. So I don't have the details.
7. One EGT issue I faced which was resolved by replacing it under warranty. I have documented this in this review thread (#1126).

Hello Fluence,

1. It's a simple installation we directly connected the dash cam to the power socket. The dash cam will work only when car is turned on. You can check the review here..

2. It was done outside at Speedfreaks Chennai. Not sure if this will void the warranty.

3. Experience with 3M is always great.. For front windshield CR 50 costed Rs 10,000 & RE for all the windows costed Rs 15,000 & Noodles mat for floor & boot together costed around Rs 15,000.

Note - This was done 1.8 years ago.

Thank you.

Have any of you got the OTA update for the new maps via Mappls? I can see the changes on the Bluelink app, and upon checking the update webpage, I can see that it has listed Mappls as the new map provider, with an update on July 10th. I'm yet to get the OTA notification in my car; I'm wondering if anyone else faced the same issue.
