If you don't hardwire it, it should not affect the warranty.

I'm not aware of the situation now, but when I bought Verna a year back, dealership and service center denied my request to install a dashcam from them. So I bought one online and got it installed from a car accessory shop.

Folks, on a different topic - I have noticed different behaviour of mute button on steering when connected to Android Auto and Carplay.

With Andoid Auto, pressing the mute button on steering will pause the song also. But with Carplay, it only mutes the volume. The song is still playing on. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a setting to pause the song on Carplay?
So I spoke with the Dealer and currently Hyundai has approved Qubo and Hyundai own Dashcam.

He said 70Mai has not been approved officially.

I will wait for prices and if its expensive, will get it outside.

A better figure would be a combination of both uphill and downhill. Typically i have seen the car return 10-11 on such stretches. Which is quite decent in my view.
You are right, this is a biased mileage number where engine was used for braking only during the downhill and it was on manual mode on either 1st or 2nd gear. The answer to why driving downhill is a problem is that the Nilgiris administration believes it is more risky for non locals than uphill. It seems there have been quite a few accidents and some of them fatal as well. Anyway if both uphill and downhill were considered, I still got a decent 13-14 kmpl and I was on normal mode only. Basically what I was implying is that if driven gently we can get a better mileage for sure.

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna Review

I’ve been using the MSXTTLY wireless adapter for about 4 months now and it’s been flawless.

Would recommend this for anybody trying to use CarPlay wirelessly.

Anyone found a solution to this? Though it's not really an inconvenience, but I do not like the songs getting skipped when someone gets a phone call and I have to mute the audio for 3-4 minutes.
To prevent this, I have to pause/play song from the infotainment screen, which can be distracting while driving.

This carplay issue is universal across all vendors and some Kia forums suggested this is a Software issue. So not sure you might get a fix

Also try Long Pressing Mute Button and see if that pauses out. Which was suggested in a Mercedes Reddit forum. But I don't think this will work but no harm in trying it out.

Thanks for the info. At least now I know that all I have to do is wait.

Already tried long pressing the Mute button. It didn’t work.

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna Review

I have a peculiar problem with my verna. The ISG is by default on (or can i switch it off). If I come to a stand still for a few seconds by pressing the brake, engine switches off which I dont want, prefer only if its long wait at the signal. Is there a better solution to this ?

Look out for the Idle Stop/start button on the lower side of the dashboard to the right of the steering wheel. You can switch off the Auto Idle start stop on the fly. However it comes on by default during engine start.

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna Review

2023 Hyundai Verna Review-img_3478.jpg

Finally Got My Black Beast Delivered.

Delivery Process was pretty smooth and Neatly Done by Trident Indiranagar in Bengaluru.

--- Drove 72Kms today from Indiranagar - Koramangala - Electronic City - Indiranagar

--- Smooth Transmission and Pretty Powerful

--- Auto Hold is very helpful in Stop Go Signals.

--- Front Parking Sensor and Blind Spot Mirror Monitoring is very Helpful.

--- Turned off Lane Assist and Front Collision of ADAS as I didn't feel the need to.

--- Mileage was around 9 KMPL with Peak traffic through out the journey except the SilkBoard Flyover (10 Kms).

--- I was used to getting around 15-16 in my i20 Diesel but this was in line with my expectations.

--- Replaced Stock Tyres with Yokohoma with Dealer itself.

Only Con So far

--- Seat was not that comfortable compared to my i20. May be I will get used to in Coming days.

But Overall very Satisfied.

Plans for Future:

--- DashCam
--- Wireless Apple Car Play Adapter

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna Review

Hi friends, has anyone observed a lag in the front parking sensors? I mean at times it starts beeping after the obstacle (a pedestrian or a biker) has already passed.

Also, once the monsoon started I realised how dangerously poor the headlamps are. I emailed to Hyundai to look into the matter and upgrade the headlights of all the new Vernas currently on the road. Got a call from the dealer saying they'll check at the workshop once I bring my vehicle for service (1st service due this week) and then possibly raise the issue with the company.

May I request everyone else here to also write to Hyundai about the headlamps. They might consider upgradation if they receive thousands of complaint.

I think that is a problem with all white LED headlights, no? And this headlight unit doesn't give any option to change either.

I've surely seen stronger white LED headlights.

In this Verna? That's interesting, would be great to upgrade this unit. For sure it is quite pathetic in rain.

I just drove a friends Seltos manual NA. The car felt smoother than my Verna. It jerks almost every time i leave accelerator and engage be it for coasting or for changing gears.

Going to get it thoroughly checked this service. Has been like this almost since start but lately it is getting worse. Anyone else experiencing this in their MT Turbo?

I have done 12K in last 1 year. I faced a similar issue. The bolt on the plastic clad above left rear wheel loosens quite frequently. I have got it fixed twice now. Unfortunately I have not got a permanent resolution from SA till date.

Have to full agree with you. I did my First Highways ride in STRR Bangalore and headlights where so Average.

Will be happy if there is any upgrades for the headlights as it will be so bad during rains as White LED's Doesn't bode well with rains in General.
