Nexon is a fair CSUV, though smaller than the Elevate anyday. Nexon and Brezza attracts the sub-4m Buyer.

Elevate definitely is in a different class compared with these two, and available with a much more refined motor and transmission combination.

Regarding Seltos and Creta, if you want bling, go to the Koreans. It is true that with the Japs, you only get quality engineering integrated in a practical setup with mostly usable features. You don’t get value adds that you may only use in a while, although nothing wrong with having those.

Honda has priced it badly. No 6 airbags in 3 versions!!! Nexon has come out with 6 airbags as standard. I hope this model gets the thumbs down from the customers. You can't equip a higher segment car with a lower segment feature? Absolutely ridiculous.

The TPMS seems to be the one similar to the after-market ones available online and Honda providing it as an official accessory is a welcome thing. Also, any idea on what is this Drive View Recorder(#This is a co-branded item with Philips as per the brochure)? Is it a dash-cam they are talking about or something else? I am not finding both of these in the City brochure and these seem to be exclusive to the Elevate.

I think people are over-reacting without knowing Honda way of life. They have not been greedy. Its just that they have not been too aggressive as well.

I firmly believe the Elevate pricing is very much practical. Honda fans and loyalists are already used to Honda way of pricing and in that sense it's priced much better than the norm. They were already planning to buy and now will happily go ahead without the usual feeling of buying an overpriced Honda.

Other brand fans were already not planning to buy this but now will feel that pricing is not a huge NO GO. To the common man who doesn't belong to fan group, every car has its own strength and weakness, so it's a matter of choice and now they have one more in the list.

Seeing the pricing, being a firm Non-Honda guy, I have no hesitation in suggesting The Elevate to anyone who wants a good, reliable, no-nonsense car.:thumbs up

All fair points. The most balanced reaction to the pricing I have seen on this thread so far. Even my own view is tainted with some bias (I know :uncontrol)

What is widely known to be missing in the other options like Creta/Seltos is a stronger shell structure. One that does not compensate that with Airbags, though a useful addition nonetheless. The BNCAP crash testing will hopefully clear that up for the Seltos facelift, the new Creta, the Elevate and the OG that is Nexon.

Overall, Honda’s cars have been known to be reliable with stable shell structures. That said, I would like to see Elevate being offered with 6 airbags in this sometime soon, starting from the base or at least +1 variant. You cannot put a price on peace of mind.

Would be interesting to see how they price the new Nexon.

Nothing against them but I don’t really understand people here saying the price is too high. It’s at par with Honda City and only at a slight premium. Why wouldn’t Honda do that?
It’s a fact that SUVs(albeit compact ones) are in more demand than sedans. Check out the price difference between Kushaq and Slavia, SUV and sedan versions of the same car and then compare the difference with Elevate/City gap.

Sure Elevate is far from perfect, but the price is alright if not mouth watering deal of the century cheap.

Honda has no sales in India that’s why Honda doesn’t seem to be that interested in the Indian market. Which is too bad, IMHO Honda has all that an Indian customer might ever want from a car, not to forget the biggest factor; reliability.

They could really shake up the market if they wanted to but I guess they aren’t interested.

For anybody who was comparing top end Honda with mid variant of Seltos, it would still be cheaper by ~ 50k, so I don't think there should be anything to complain. I think Honda has delivered what they promised and I am ok to go ahead with my booking. I guess our expectation become unreasonable sometimes! This is the still the cheapest among all the competition and has an added advantage of ADAS and Honda reliability!

Personally, I think the pricing is aggressive. Not overpriced. The Hyryder and Vitara mid variants are priced higher than ZX. Even the Ambition trims of Kushaq and Taigun are higher priced. Considering ADAS and other features, Honda has priced this well and should get some good sales numbers.

So,finally the suspense is over.Honda Elevate launched at 10.99 lakh.

So,is it really worth it or Grand Vitara is better, considering the build quality,ride quality and reliability.

Will Honda stay in India for a long time or end like Ford and Chevrolet.

Now Venue also gets ADAS and upcoming SONET is also expected to get ADAS.
The real USP for Elevate would have been a Hybrid engine in the 18-20l price range.

Point of View from a perspective buyer looking for a CVT in a budget:

V CVT - Base model for Automatic It comes with bare minimum features. (There are no alloys in V variant on offer - This is the first time that they have not given Alloys in V variant)

VX CVT - (There is no Cruise Control in this model and Rear Armrest is also missing in VX) Come on Honda this is 2nd top end model.

Quiz for BHPians - Tell me one Car in Indian market (apart from Elevate) which is sold for 18 lakhs onroad and does not have Cruise Control?

Creta sells for more than 10k units per month. Elevate may sell for not more than 2k units per month with this pricing.

Maruti/Toyota hybrids are priced at a 3 lakh premium and same goes to turbo offering of Koreans and Germans. So we need to focus on their petrol NA offerings

Maruti/Toyota has the 1.5 K series engine which only done one thing right - Economy
Never a fan of small 1.0 turbo engines so I will not consider germans here
1.5 NA on Seltos/Creta is very refined but will always be one step below the v-tec, They do try to make up for it with all those features. Waiting for Bharat NCAP results of seltos/creta.

Honda has done their homework here in targeting the maximum share of this segment and 1.5 NA should make sure they grab a fair share of the monthly sales clap:

Expect this to be introductory price and depending on the success, they will happily hike the prices to bring at par with the competition.

The price seems quite reasonable, I was expecting the price to be inline/slightly premium than City. I am keeping my booking for now. I feel that Honda has priced Elevate higher by atleast 50K.

Elevate seems like a family car that is a point A to point B mover without any nonsense. There is nothing exceptional about it e.g. looks, features, mileage, brand value etc, yet it somehow ticks the right boxes. Honda should have played the price card smartly to draw crowd to their showrooms. That way they would have gained attention of customers. Anyways, they will be giving discounts on this in few months.
