Hi all,
I have booked an Elevate VX CVT - delivery to be taken in 2 weeks (end of December).
Is it worth taking it in January instead? How much is the expected price hike in January?
What all can I negotiate for, considering it is end of the year?
I plan on keeping the car for long (10 years) so impact on resale due to '23 instead of '24 does not impact me much, but I would like to get some benefit, if I can. |
I guess not much. Being a new launch, the offers, if any, on Elevate may likely kick in by end of Jan or Feb only as they have deliveries pending on certain model-color combinations. But the dealers may give some offer for other not-so-moving ones (not sure if they will have lots in stock). You can give it a try saying you are considering delaying the delivery to next year (without asking for a discount).

I have taken delivery yesterday for ZX CVT variant.
As per Dealer, Prices are expected to increase by approx. 50k-80k along with some modifications.
Also prices for accessories are expected to increase from January.
I don't think you can bargain much because there is demand for CVT variant.
Only thing you can bargain is Insurance price if you are willing to take from Dealer, otherwise there are no discounts offered.
Took delivery of Honda Elevate ZX CVT yesterday. We had booked the DT white around the launch date and after a very long wait, we decided to switch to White last week. Apart from the long wait for the DT color, no qualms about the pre-delivery or delivery. Dealership location: Mangalore.
Question to owners and prospective owners: has anyone installed the 360 deg camera from factory as part of accessories? Not sure if it would be of much help given the not so big proportions of the car? My dealer is quoting 29K for it.
Any thoughts?

AFAIK, there is no 360 deg camera from the factory or even as an official Honda accessory.

Thats what I thought too, until the dealership said otherwise. Let me see if I can share the price list, where you can see the 360 deg cam at the very bottom. Infact they even shared a video of how it works. Its in mp4 format, not sure how to attach it here though

In my humble opinion, I feel that the list of official accessories should be verified against the list on Honda's website. There is no mention of a 360 degree camera on the Honda website as of yesterday.
During my booking too, the dealer tried to pass off a Chinese made dashcam as an approved product, but I insisted on the Philips GoSure.

I will need to check to make sure it is a genuine accessory. When questioned, the dealership, who have been very courteous and prompt so far, sent me the above price list and also a video post-installation. Also, the price list seems a bit on the higher side compared to what others have quoted here

Hi,
There is a 360 cam available at dealerships, saw it on my showroom visit.
No idea whether it's an official one. They are integrating it to the OEM head unit itself. But the ugly thing about it is that the car will have 6 cams in total for VX and ZX, 4 installed by the dealer and 2 OEM ones, all 6 will work too.
Plenty of videos available in YouTube too.

Yes, the SA said the 360 deg camera would include 4 camera - 2 under each ORVM and 2 at the rear. Plus 2 OEM ones. But the LHS ORVM already has a lane watch camera...so not sure if that doubles up as part of 360 setup.
Will need to watch the YT videos you mentioned. Thanks

You will also need to check if this installation will void warranty.

One thing I noticed is there is no official MRP for any of these accessories. Each dealer to their own (even in same city).
The question about official accessory - if it is a genuine accessory, why is it not listed with the rest of the items in the official brochure (you can download it from the website). The dash cam is clearly mentioned, although they call it "Drive View Recorder". So, why not 360-degree cam? I guess it is not. Also, you can always call up/e-mail Honda customer care and check with them.
I had the opportunity to take a look at the Elevate today. Here are some of my first impressions:
1. The car has a lot of space and legroom. I am 6'1 and I was able to stretch my legs when sitting behind the driver seat that was set as per my seating position.
2. The car is essentially a Honda City which has bulked. Apart from the infotainment, almost everything felt like the Honda City.
3. I really liked the feel of the Paddle Shifters and the dash. The car is well built.
I have only one grouse and that is the 'Engine'. I wonder when Honda will move on from NA engines and provide us with sporty turbo-petrol or complete hybrid engines.
Overall, I'd pick this up if I wasn't too much of an enthusiast and wanted the 'fill it-shut it-forget it' experience.
Was in my SVC today to get my car serviced and took a test drive of the Elevate ZX CVT. As a Jazz owner who is very happy with Honda experience overall, Elevate/City does seem like a logical upgrade.
Here are my observations. Mostly in comparison to the Jazz CVT.
+ Firstly the ride quality is superb. The bad patches on Bangalore roads were felt way lesser than my Jazz.
+ Tall bonnet coupled with the lane watch camera makes driving in city traffic that much easier. A boon when two wheelers are obsessed with left side overtaking
+ Engine while not too explosive was adequate for city driving. Didn’t feel too underpowered at all atleast till 80-90(got onto highway for a short while). Honda has tuned the CVT box pretty well for the 1.5 iVtec. Lag felt lesser than I expected.
+ Finding a comfortable seating position was cakewalk. Coming from Jazz it felt like a very familiar place to be in although some things were different (starter button, AC controls, toggle switches). Legroom at the back as well felt great.
+ Has all the features I would ever want in my car. Thankfully the emergency braking can be turned off (I did that first thing before starting the test drive). :D
- Spacewise doesn’t feel like much of an upgrade over my current car. City feels roomier although I guess it’s more to do with the hump in the middle of rear seat.
- Plastic quality again didn’t feel much better than my current car.
- Sunroof is a joke. They could have either given a panoramic sunroof or kept this contraption optional.
- Huge Front bonnet makes it look narrower than it actually is(refer the last picture).
Had this been available back in 2019, would have been my pick for sure. For 20L OTR seems decent VFM compared to competition :thumbs up
Hi everyone,
I had posted a message earlier that I was on a lookout for tray/bucket mats for my Elevate as I did not buy those from the dealer. The reason for not buying from dealership was they looking to force me in buying basic accessory kit and not allowing me to pick and choose individual accessories as I needed. I then tried GFX mats of city which did not fit well.
HERE IS THE UPDATE. GFX HAVE LAUNCHED BUCKET MATS FOR ELEVATE!
Please see the picture below and note the specific part number GLLM-080. Anyone who is interested in tray mats (NOT 7D mats) can inquire about these at their local accessory store. I have fitted these in my elevate and they fit perfectly now. The price I paid was Rs. 4500.
Those interested do mention the part number to accessory store to ensure that they are not selling you the one for city which has part number GLLM-030.
