That's one of the reason few cars Fuel efficiency has decreased with BS 6 emissions.

Re: Tata Curvv Review

This car hasn’t been on my radar. I saw it in the flesh in powder blue briefly today and honestly I was taken aback and pleasantly surprised at what a head turner it is. I haven’t seen the interiors. But from the outside, I think it will definitely get noticed for the first few months.

Re: Tata Curvv Review

Great innovation from Tata. Instead of going the Honda way they have made a whole new category for themselves with almost zero competition (body style wise). And with the feature set Tata has provided it will surely give a tough time to the Koreans which for long have ruled without any real competition. I only hope that there aren't many niggles and the ones there are sorted out as quickly as possible. Now just waiting for Tata to introduce the bigger TGDi engine which is expected to produce close to 170hp.

Re: Tata Curvv Review

I have been following up Tata Curvv for almost 6 months now. I stay in Himachal Pradesh where the charging infrastructure still isn't up to par, and since my job requires me to relocate periodically, installing a full-fledged home charger isn't feasible. So, for now, an EV is out of the question.

I recently test-drove both the petrol and diesel versions, and I believe the diesel Accomplished +A DCA offers the best combination of handling, power, and stability, especially on the hilly roads of Himachal Pradesh. However, I’m not too thrilled with the current color trims available. While it may come down to personal preference, the burgundy interior in the top variant doesn’t really appeal to me.

I'm certain Tata will launch a #Dark Edition for the Curvv as they didn’t take long to release it after the facelifted Nexon was launched earlier this year. I'm eagerly waiting for the Tata Curvv Accomplished +A Diesel DCA Dark Edition to be released. Can’t wait to hear news on the launch!

Does anyone has an update on the Tata Curvv #dark edition launch?

I recently checked out both the variants, drove the Diesel Manual. The diesel is a punchy option. It was a brief drive in the city, but it delivered a nice pull when I wanted it to.

While the EV is enticing, I found the rear seat very poor (I am 6 2) in terms of thigh support. Headroom was manageable.

Given your history with the Verna, I would suggest you to go for the Diesel.

Thank you for the suggestion! With the recent news on the Nexon fire and refund, Diesel will be the way to go. AT is definitely needed, as I would not be able to justify moving from Verna. I will take a detailed test drive with family and decide.

I really wanted to test that gearbox, but it wasn't available. The YouTube reviews on the Curvv's engine are from my experience.

Do let us know what you find on your test drive!

As a note, I must mention that I am addicted to driving the diesel Verna. I have driven about 1,35,000 km over 5 years, still gives me mileage of 22~26 kmpl and never fails to put a smile on my face every single time I taker her out. So the expectations are high...
Hey ABG

I will try my best to give you point to point opinion on your dilemma about EV v ICE :-

- With your average annual running of around 25,000 km, you will at least save minimum of Rs. 6 per km in an EV, which amounts to Rs. 1.50 Lakh per annum - a significant amount irrespective of whether or not you want to save
- The feel of driving an EV will definitely be superior than your Diesel Hyundai Verna in terms of smooth acceleration and the overall fatigue-less cabin experience - I am an existing 2.0 TDI VW Jetta user, just for reference
- Slow charging is the best kind of charge for an EV and lucky you are getting it for FREE - point to capitalise on significantly
- With the recent upgrades in Curvv EV in terms of updated prismatic battery pack in the 55 kWh long range version, you can easily expect a real life range on MINIMUM 400 km on a single charge at 89-90 kmph legal highway speeds in eco mode, very good enough to meet you targeted use
- The input charging rate has been upgraded to 1.2c in the Curvv EV, good enough to juice up significantly in 15-20 min tea breaks, leave aside the full charge potential at highway 30-45 min lunch/dinner breaks
- With a family of 3, the Curvv will be spacious enough for all your needs and even 1000 km trips will not be that exhaustive in an EV compared to an ICE because of the effortless drive feel/comfort of any EV
- The issues faced by the earlier Tata EVs will not be that frequent as work has been done on the core issue from Tata by upgrading the battery pack and BMS starting with the Curvv EV and immediately the updated 45 kWh Nexon EV update, so the worry of car being in constant repair mode will be a thing of the past for Tata EVs to come
- As you already are an existing Tata ICE customer, Tata will be much more comfortable for you as a choice
- If you have the budget of an Safari, I would definitely suggest you to check out BYD Atto 3 as an option on the EV side - the 60 kWh option, as it will have an assured range of more than 450 km on single charge
- And if the budget is even flexible till 35L, wait for the BYD eMax 7 with 72 kWh battery pack as an EV equivalent of the Safari segment
- As for the smile the Verna brings on your face, just test drive an EV for at least 100 km and it will bring out the biggest smile on your face I am confident of
- Concluding on the EV v ICE part, my sincere advise would be not to go on the ICE side of things as for your use EV seems to be more practical and a rational choice and it is the future for passenger mobility

Re: Tata Curvv Review

I would suggest looking at other vehicles of the segment, because from what I have observed from motorinc , the rear seat headroom is limited even for average Indian height.

And TATA is as reckless as they can get right now.
They are taking customer for granted.

There are much better products for both driving pleasure and please of mind.:

Re: Tata Curvv Review

Motorinc's review is out for the Curvv ICE.

I don't think I have seen any cars review as critical as this one.

To sum it up in a sentence, Kartikeya quotes- Curvv ICE can be a second car at best!

Re: Tata Curvv Review

Tata cars were known to have good rear seat legroom. It looks like Tata designers prioritized form over function in Curvv. I feel if Curvv roof length was increased by 50-80cm, then rear seat would have good legroom and could compete with Creta and Seltos.

I spotted first Curvv ICE variant on road yesterday in Hyderabad. The car was in Pure Grey shade and looked decent. I could not take a snap as I was driving.

Tata garnered good amount of interest with Curvv launch about 2 months back. All the interest is fading out as test drive car availability of different ICE engine and gearbox combinations is unknown with dealers. I am still waiting for callback from salesperson who I interacted with for Curvv ICE test drive.

Re: Tata Curvv Review

Kind of shocked at the low amount of activity in this thread. Have the deliveries not started yet or are people actually avoiding the first batch of this TATA car?

Re: Tata Curvv Review

I recently visited the Tata Showroom in Pune for some work related to Harrier and checked out the new Curvv. The car did garner a small group of enquirers who had come to buy either the Punch or Nexon.

My observations:
1. The car does have a road presence as per me.
2. The boot is huge
3. Didnt like the XUV 700 type door handles, felt they could be prone to some rough handling.
4. The interiors are good

I think you should also check out the newly launched Nexon CNG as well as the Mahindra 3XO diesel.

Excellent explanation!

This post has given me a wierd motivation to quit my job and join a company which provides free EV charging within it's car parking premises.

Thanks a ton for making my day!

Just a little OT, but does the new Nexon EV 45kwh make any sense for 10000 km annual running, and does all the above mentioned features like 1.2c charging apply to that as well?
