Excuse me if it has already been discussed, but has anyone noticed the images of Aura+ on the following page (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...age-4-a-4.html) where alloy wheels are clearly visible on the launch cars. Does anyone know whether these were directly lifted from Linea? or are they available on the Aura+ version.

Thanks!

(By the way I booked a Dew Pearl white this Monday, Thanks to TeamBhp's review!)

Wot rot!

How can Tata hope to sell any Manza's like this?

I don't know the status on deliveries of the Manza, but seems to me like the salesman's talking though his hat.

I am not supporting TML or the sales rep here but is it possible that the sales rep meant delivery next year (2010). That comes in line with the 2 month WL.

on what basis are you saying that pimpri plant is not capable. the TCF1 line produces VISTA, MANZA and INDICA (domestic as well as export).

the weld and paint shops both produce manza as well as vista along with other models of tata.

wrong, Manza is very much manufactured at pimpri plant also.
the currenty monthly plan is 1000 units per month.

no sirjee, same vista line at pimpri car plant is currently producing manza as well. the plan at ranjangaon is schedules at 3000 plus and pimpri at 1000 per month.
take it in writing from me this is 110% sure .

went to check it out. A friend was seriously considering buying one.
Unfortunately, the dealership didn't seem to be too interested in selling it.

vjoy , please clarify . The salesrep most probably meant "next year" as in jan 2010.

Congrats .
As far as we know , no alloys in any variants as standard fitment though it may be available as genuine company accessory from the dealer itself in the future. As of now they have no idea if it will be available.

Didn't seem interested ! What else are they hoping to sell. I think they must have been not interested in giving an assured date of delivery.

Anybody who believed the dealerships when they first said 2-3 weeks for delivery from date of launch ,fully well knowing that even the TD vehicles will be made available only after 3 - 4 weeks after launch were being naive. Hopefully we can expect delivery of the polpular colours and models (Black, Silver, Maroon/ Aura , Aura ABS ) by month end.

I guess TATA didn't expect this kind of reception for its flagship model or they were indeed expecting this and went ahead with the launch to spoil the year end party of the other car manufacturers.
It is feasible to think that a factory capable of manufacturing vista will be capable of putting out Manzas as well . The "only ranjangaon/ same assemly line as Linea" speech by TATA could be a marketing strategy to associate itself with the premium segment Linea.

The alloys shown in the pictures are not given as Standard on even the Aura+ version. They are however available as add on for an additional price of approx Rs.25000. This was confirmed to me by the salesman at Concorde Prabhadevi where i checked out the Manza today.

BTW they had a dew pearl white with the alloy wheels on display and it looked really cool.

Hi friends new to the forum...1st of all hats off GTO simply outstanding work man actually removed all my doubts and niggles regarding having this beast at my doorstep.

Booked Infinity Black(Petrol ABS) on 23rd oct, this being my first car a little less known abt initial ownership precautions to be taken so would really appreciate feedback from all the distinguished members...

In constant touch with the staff at my dealership they say invoice is expected in a couple of days as going for outside insurance(not from the dealer) saves me close to 5000 bucks,Should i go ahead with the said thing? or take up insurance from the dealer itself?

Congrats Hudson. Good luck with the delivery.
I wanted to see the white car in flesh, did not get to see it at all. Does anyone have a picture of the pearl white? Although pictures don't tell the story, would be nice to see it.

@GTO : GTO, are you listening? You would want us to have a longish test drive before we make our decision, but your reviews are making us book the car without the TD!

Congrats on the booking. Massive sedan as your first car... way to go!!

I guess it make little sense to go for a Vista (or any other hatch as the first car) now that Manza is available for a few more $$$. You get the maaasssiivvee boot, better finish and speedo is back to where it belongs

welcome to teambhp and congratulations on your booking.Which dealer did you booked your carwith.Nothings wrong to get your insurance outside, it does saves some cash. You can also try to get your registeration of RTO on yourself as well which would save some more cash.Keep updating on your progress.

This calls for Manza interest group to post daily updates on the anecdotes of their dealers.

I checked with mine. He says that the billing will be done by monday, and the car should arrive by November end.

As per him, some of the colors like breeze blue have not even gone into manufacturing. Sales man!

Okay, I'll take your word for it. However, we were categorically informed by Tata's senior managers that the Manza is assembled only on the Linea line. Body parts do go from Pimpri, but the car is "manufactured" at Ranjangaon only.

Please spend some time in the Advice forum section. Lots of important information in there.

Buy your own insurance if it saves you 5 grand.

I take that as a compliment. But please, I insist. Do test the car yourself prior to signing on the dotted line.

+1 for that. When buying a SAntro back in 2000, i made the same mistake. ACI had a comparision test in their mag in late 1999, The santro came on top. Booked it without test drive. After driving my vehicle came to know about the ackward positioning of the pedals. Was limping for the next 1 month until i got used to it !!!!!!

Manza TD

Hi guys , I had a a chance to TD both petrol and diesel Manza yesterday and I have mentioned the things I liked about it.

Please note that I do drive both the Linea e+ and Zen and the comments below are not in comparision to linea but more for those who are looking at manza as more of an up gradation from previous gen cars like my Zen 95/00. The TD is available at Concorde motors @ prabhadevi, Mumbai. Since the number of people waiting for a test drive was a lot the test drive was restricted to a circle from concorde to siddhivinayak temple and back again.

1) Both the engines seemed very refined though the engine roar at higher rpms felt better in Linea petrol than in manza. The diesel was surprisingly silent when idle but the moment I pressed on the gas pedal, it gave a really inviting roar which was much better then the petrol. The turbo lag was pretty evident till around 2k but the way it kicked in was simply awesome. The point where the lag ends and the car goes turbo is simply awesome, for a moment I thought I pressed too hard on the gas lol.
2) I really don’t know why but the ride quality in petrol was much better in petrol than in diesel. Please don’t get me wrong here, what I mean is both the cars absorbed the bumps at low speeds but the petrol one just absorbed the bumps the moment it touched them where as the diesel one went over the bumps and then absorbed them.
3) The pick up of both the cars was nothing home to write about but let me tell you unless you plan to clock your 0-100 timings everytime you start the car its more than adequate for everyday use and also for the short sudden bursts post the run-in.
4) The poise of the car on the road is good and the view feels as if a bit higher than many a sedans.
5) The car has a definite street presence and I love the way the nose dips when you brake really hard. In the short drive I braked hard @ 80km/hr and the car stops in an impressive manner butI didn’t feel the ABS kicking in the way I feel in linea. OT I hadn’t felt the ABS kick in like Linea in punto as well. What I meant was in linea you can feel the grip-let loose movement of ABS very clearly which I didn’t feel in the manza.
6) I was a bit apprehensive about the adjustment knob of the headlight beam levels, there are 4 levels which you choose (0-3) and the beam rises up or dips down as per your selection. There is no up and down leveler which you keep pressed till you get the right position but its really neat in its own way.
7) After all the observations on this forum as well as by myself, the first thing I observed when I entered the cabin was the cabin temperature and guess what ??? It showed 35 degrees. Not withstanding I turned on the AC on the 3RD position and then the temperature on the display started fluctuating between 31-34 degrees, although the temperature on the temperature on my watch which is pretty accurate (the watch is with me for more than 2 years now and yes I do check if its functioning well)was 29 degrees.
8) The ORVM controls are a breeze to operate and very precise. Unlike reported in ACI I found the view thru the ORVMs quite adequate .
9) The steering mounted controls are a bit small and take time adjusting to.
10) The steering wheel itself felt a bit thin to grip on and I would recommend a steering grip to be added on later for those who need a better grip. @ Concorde the steering wheel grip was for Rs-350/-
11) It’s a marketing gimmick to lure unsuspecting customers but all the cars in the showroom, be it display or TD were fitted with cool alloy wheels which is not a standard fitment even on aura +. These alloys would cost anywhere between 20-30 k as informed by the attendant but he wasn’t sure.
12) The gear box of the petrol was much smoother than that of the diesel which felt a bit grainy on the TD cars no idea why since both have C549s.
13) The delivery time as confirmed by the salesman was 2-4 weeks although he said that as of now the production priority is on diesel cars.
14) Personally I am looking forward to buying the aura+ in Q1 2010. Many crib about the A** but let me tell you what I feel guys, the product is great if you like the product then go for it. Every critic has issues about Fiat A** but for my linea I have got a really good service even for small small things @ Concorde. OT Manza will be the third car in the family in past 1.5 yrs from Concorde@ prabhadevi and till now there have been no regrets.

If I recollect more info later I ll definitely update it.

Hope this helps. Feel free to shoot queries if any.

Cheers
