car had lots of rust as it was in goa for quite a long time.

Nice to see a thread on Herald Restoration, am sure Stanher will be quite happy.

The car looks quite corroded, even the damper has hole

BTW the metal replacement work looks very promising, keeping the original pattern intact.

Looking forward to updates on this project.

Good job! That sure is one rusty Herald! Looks like you saved it just in time! I'm aware that this car was in Goa but it has an MYL regn. (Belgaum I guess?)

No the car was here just for restoration, it was sent back to goa two weeks ago.

Nice but why wasnt the chassis stripped up before being painted? ie. the suspension, axles etc. all off?

That's an ultra rare VW Beetle. Were Volkswagen forced to collaborate with British Ford for this, as reparations for WWII? This was then probably code-named the VW 103E model, or something like that. While Germany's other Axis-partner, Italy had to make the Fiat 103E.

Are you quite sure that is a Beetle saar?? It looks more like a Morris 8 or British Ford Anglia as Prabal hinted!

That Wheel Rim made me think its a Beetle

I needed a rolling chassis to take it down towing to the other place to fix up the chassis. The mechanicals were later stripped and refurbished. and the car in that picture is not a beetle its a fordson van. got it as a donor car to fix up my ford popular.
