The front seat is something I've never seen before though. A "home-made" fabrication? |
Hi Shyam,
Got this picture for you from the cardboard box for the Vijai Super head lamp assembly.
Hope you are completely convinced now.

Hmm.......this is most interesting! My Vijai never had it even though it too was a mark2! Or maybe it had been changed to a 'normal' sprung seat by the previous owner, considering that he was quite heavy? :)
Found this on internet a treat for Lamby and Beetle Lovers, how ever sad to see one beetle turned into a trailer

Am just seeing this post. Was planning to accompany Arun and his Delight for the Fiat Club's Nandi Hill drive. But if enough BCSC members are interested, we could do what Gokul has mentioned. BTW, what time are the Jawa guys meeting at Airlines? Will send a mail to all BCSC boys tonight, please reply. Incidentally, Sujith1100 was mentioning "new members". Are there any new members I'm not aware of? Please fill me in.

Also 'have a question- what is this pipe sticking out down the carb side of this Lammy for? I've never seen this is on any Lambretta, so always wondered why the flywheel/magneto cover had that little hoop on it. Anyone know what this pipe is for, and if necessary to have? |
That is a petrol overflow pipe.

Ok, thanks. Could you tell me where and how it's connected? To the tank? Or the carb?

To my limited knowledge our Indian Lambrettas never had a reed valve. So everytime the intake port is closed by the downward movement of the piston, some fuel is spitted out of the carburettor. As a result, we find a coat of 2Toil (left over after the petrol dries up) at the 90° bend of the air intake hose. I think this hose drains such oil & petrol traces spat by the carb. But No idea why the Vijais didnt have this arrangement.
