Karlosdeville

The forum is the Vintage and Classic car thread on PakWheels.com - Complete guide to automobile industry in Pakistan, Sports, Wallpapers, Classifieds or discussions on cars.. there is something about some split screen VW cars, but you will have to wade through the whole 120 pages or so.

Another split screen bus in Karachi. I am told that it is to undergo a more sympathetic restoration after its hippee/yipee life cycle is over.

Still waiting for the Lahore split screen pictures.

Saw a dark colored VW microbus in Chennai late evening few days back. Was very well maintained (at least the exterior).

And so will be a lot of folks. I can already imagine people reading this with contacts in Goa looking for the car. There have a lot of good beetles and microbus which have gone out of Goa to unscruplous dealers. People are just trying to make money on these cars, its a very sad situation. I will probably PM you the pics dont want folks to go knocking on the owners door.

Further to the pictures of the Microbus, here are what I believe to be a " split " in Karachi.
Hope this excites all the VW lovers, Karlosdeville, is this the Holy Grail?

Split window. Oh my god.

Why is it left rotting there.

Alvis nice pics on the Microbus dude.

Good to see some enthusiasts working on it.

Best of luck to them on getting this beauty on road running soon.

Hi car bug, congrats on a lovely purchase. Any info on how many km's the bus has done till date. What is the condition of the engine and transmission setup?. Are you planning to overhaul the engine ? What tires fit to the vw? Looking at the VW reminds me of our own matador which used to be a common site a few years ago. The engines of these were so rugged. i guess it too is going to become a collectors item some day .

Back to your VW, could you post the history of the vw as in how it landed in india and how it ended up becoming an ambulance. Is it a petrol or a diesel engine,? what are the specs?
