What do you need to know about the early Bay window.

Dave,

Thanks for your mail.

See there's some kind of pipe or a thin metal hose that runs from the engine compartment up towards the air intake slots on the back of the bus,

Need to take actual pics to let you know.

Somehow this is puzzling me.:Frustrati

Here are some of the many hundreds of old VWs in and around Goa i saw and pictured last year.If you would like to see more please tell me,thanks.

So this is Dave? i was wondering where you dissapeared to:)

And yes, needless to say, we always want to see more.

Hello Karlos, here're some more pics of mine mostly from last year. Hope you enjoy them. Karlos, like your cars, nice collection. Have you finished the oval yet.

The Oval proceeds at snails pace. The body is off the chassis again to correct some incorrect welding. Am also closing the heater channels, Ill never use them. Say would you know anyone in Goa with 14inch 5 bolt wheels for sale?

I also notice the pink Beetle in your pics appears to be an oval with a larger window grafted in. The W decklid and dash are a give away. Am I right? This is probably the same car I shot last year.

It certainly looks like the same one, although i never saw that car yellow on my visits to prems. Have only ever seen two ovals in Goa and one of them is this one that was at a all vw show about 3 years ago held in Margoa, and owned by the guy there who had a small museum.will have to sought them pics out and post them up.
At the moment Prems the only one i can think of who may have a 14 inch 5 stud that he will sell.I know of many, but they wont part with them.

Heres the other one I know of. Avelar's.

So, have you ever seen a split Beetle in Goa? I keep hearing of one.

It just struck me, there used to be a green Oval as well, GDA regd. It recently went to a large Delhi collection, alongwith the navy blue and white van in your pictures.

:OT I know this is about Volkswagens, but I also noticed a couple of Lambretta scooters in the photos. I'm sure Goa has quite a few Lambrettas from the 60's and early 70's. It is largely unknown if Lambretta LI 125 cc Series 2 scooters were ever assembled or manufactured in India, even in small numbers. But recently, I came across an ad on ebay advertising a 125 cc API Lambretta LI S2 scooter. The seller was from Goa, and the ad has expired. Was wondering if anyone knows if 125 cc Series 2 Lambrettas found their way into Goa somehow.
Again, sorry for going off-topic!

The green oval was the only other one i have seen in Goa,was parked in a driveway in Candolim, but had gone last november 07 along with the Blue and white split in Panijim.didnt know they had gone to the same person though.I have heard the rummers of the split bug but never seen it. There was lso a Barndoor bus in Calangute that i had driven in owned by an english man,but he sold it about seven years ago.and he moved to
USA.Did you ever see my friend Nitins bus in Panijim, the only one on the road at the moment,in Goa.we only finished it last november.Mango and white a 63.

Note from the Team-BHP Support : Please take the time to use proper punctuation as per Team-BHP rules. Thanks.

I havent seen it personally, but have seen pics of it before. Do you have any pics of the green oval?

Since we now have a dedicated thread, here are a few random VW sightings I made in Goa over the years. There are more, but Im only putting up what hasn't been covered yet.

This curio has an oval dash. Unfortunately the other pictures came quite poor, so I cant tell if the dash is changed or the rest of it is.

Could you guys tell me what do you mean by 'Oval' when you are talking about a Beetle?

And pardon my ignorance :)

Sankar,They are called ovals because of the shape of the smaller rear windows
