Great looking 230SL! It definitely would keep up with traffic and them some -- fuel injected inline 6 with front disc brakes; syncro mesh gears and can easily cruise at 100Mph. This looks to be a 66 or earlier.
In many ways it's a much better car than the 190SL that opened this thread. The 190 was the follow-on to the 300. MB wanted a car that could be sold in higher numbers; they preserved the some of the stylish looks of the 300 but really screwed up with the engined on the 190 -- only using a 4 cylinder. Nice car to gently cruise around in, but difficult to keep up in modern traffic. The 190 was a pretty poor seller and the replaced it with the "high-performance" 230 in 1964.

Front apron/lip not authentic, shady looking metal job. The new apron is unoriginal and does not look good in my opinion. Also given to understand she had a shunt several years ago and has been rebuilt in the front. AMG Penta's too have gone missing off late.
