You are right.25k for a thermoplastic helmet seems like robbery when there are similar helmets from LS2 and MT at less than half the price.
Even Airohs own Connor series retails for around 13k.
I remember saying here that KYTs R2R pro at 18k seemed to be an overpriced thermoplastic helmet when it was released.déjà vu☺️

With a long ride approaching, I decided to buy the LS2 FF805 for around 30K. I feel it is a significant improvement in noise levels compared to my previous helmet. @night_eagle has the same helmet and we realized that the BluArmor issues at high speeds have drastically reduced. We credit it to the better sound insulation leading to lesser noise being picked up by the microphone. |
This makes the decision easy for me. Thanks for sharing!
Experience wise, I don't have a problem with wind noise since I use ear plugs. I am hoping the new helmet would improve mic audio.

Just a few days back on the same thread, i was harping on about how the LS2 storm 2 FF8* series is the best value for money and i will keep it until the Airoh bug bites me and here you are with a product that is somewhat just outside a price range, that most of us would be somewhat comfortable with. Which retailer did you go to ? |
As someone who has been using the original LS2 Storm for 3 years now, I also believe that it is the best helmet for rupee that we can get in India right now.
I found this Airoh helmet in Autoqueen, Cochin. Other retailers that have tied up with HighNotePerformance should also have it in stock.

Glad to know that. The ultra light weight shell and rather small overall size is what drew me in.

Got it, let me see if any of my local folks in Bangalore have it, not that I need it , but a Diwali purchase is always nice :uncontrol.

Ditto experience. I have an old LS2 Storm that has held up exceptionally well (
yes I know the plastic lids have an expiry date)and I still use it for local rides when I am not using a helmet liner.
I recently picked up a FF805 Carbon, after inputs from esteemed forum members and have now ridden about 4000 kms with it on my Street Triple. It is extremely light-weight, comfortable, plush, balanced, aerodynamic and quiet. And I am saying that this is the case for a Naked bike, well known for the wind blast.
The only minor complaint I have is with the button for releasing the visor which tends to accumulate dust and needs to be kept clean. No other issues. And spares availability with LS2 has always been a very big plus.
In fact whenever I put on one of my other lids (Caberg and Bell) I can immediately notice the difference in Drag and Noise.
This is 32K very well spent, I'd say.
There is a brand that caught my eye thanks to its ad being spammed in my feed, TIIVRA. Is anyone familiar with this or used any of their products ? The decals on the helmet put me off and i really did not pay any attention, but would still love to know if its a worthy alternative in this market. We are spoilt for choices already with affordable entry level SMK , AXOR and semi premium MT and LS2.

I don't have any personal experience with this brand. But I remember reading about a sham this particular brand did with their helmets a while ago.

This brand has no certification for their helmets, have heard it’s in process, no confirmation on that either. I would hold off any helmet purchase from them.
Cheers
MT Thunder 3 - Short Review
This is an older model from MT Helmets, and the Thunder 4 has since come out, with the latest ECE 22.06 certification. However, I still see the Thunder 3 frequently in most helmet stores that I've been to, hence I'm writing this down for potential buyers. Since this helmet has been covered extensively elsewhere, I'll focus on things that aren't upto the mark, rather than specs and features.
This is my first ever helmet,
purchased in Jan 2024 for Rs. 6800. Therefore my comparison points are friends' helmets, obviously worn for short durations. Overall it's relatively lightly used, mostly for weekend rides and sometimes in the city. Rarely been caught in rain. I store it in a cupboard, covered with the provided bag.
The helmet is
ECE 22.05, DOT and ISI (sticker, not printed) certified.
Likes- Good fit for my head shape
- Not too noisy (I mostly ride with earplugs though)
- Flip-down sun visor
- Double-D ring closure
- Good stability at highway speeds. Does not lift up, does not move side-to-side
- Supports Pinlock installation (sold separately)
- Never had a single drop of water enter the helmet during rains
Dislikes- Non-removable inner lining. Only two detachable points on cheek pads for partial release

- Extremely flimsy sun visor open/close lever. Not sure how it hasn't broken yet

- Rear "spoiler" is very fragile and has a rattle due to loose screw hole. Made me think my motorcycle is rattling until I discovered this. Notice how one screw is popping out more than the other

- Both head and chin vents don't seem to make much difference between open and closed
- Stitching of the strap's pad is fraying

- Should come with Pinlock installed at this price
- Difficult to remove visor without applying a lot of force (maybe due to imperfect alignment during unlock sequence)

Overall thoughts
The helmet is functionally good. It's reasonably comfortable, has decent airflow and is stable, is not too noisy, the sun visor does its job and both the optical elements do not distort/refract. At 1.6 kgs, it's the same weight as most other helmets in this range.
However, I am a bit bummed out about the quality. I expected to keep it for 5 years, but it looks like it'll barely last 3. The biggest miss for me is not having removable pads, which makes it difficult to clean. The visor doesn't open/close smoothly anymore, and the spoiler's rattle is getting to me so I'll have to glue the screw. I'm also seeing pilling on the inner liner's fabric. Again, very hard to do anything about it due to not having removable liner. And every time I open or close the sun visor, the plastic lever bends and feels like it'll snap.
I didn't have any expectations since this was my first helmet. However, this is a pretty pricey product from MT and I did expect it to hold up a little better. I'd like to know a couple of things from you all
1. Whether my expectations were misplaced and this is par for the course
2. How does this helmet compare to the Thunder 4?
3. What's a decent price range for an upgrade around 2 years down the line? I prioritise functionality and longevity over looks and features.
Thanks and ride safe!

Is there anyone who has realtime user feedback for Axor X Cross dual visor helmets?
Did check this very thread for couple of pages and couldn't find.

Are you sure about this? Removable liners are common on all MTs. There are rubber flaps on the cheek pads that are pressed into the bottom of the helmet, along the bottom rubber seal. You need to pull them out. This is how most removable liners work. The website clearly states the liners are removable.

Anybody here who experienced or bought any of the NHK helmets? They are good value for money helmets i guess, priced only around 6k with ECE22.06 and double D rings.
A quick review of the LS2Pioneer 2 adventure helmet that I got recently:
Build & Fit: I own the LS2 Storm 2 already, so this helmet has similar solid build with premium cheek pads, fantastic paint quality, the latest ECE 22.06 rating, adjustable peak and pinlock ready anti scratch visor. Mine is the S size and fit is excellent after you skillfully wear the helmet through its narrow opening. The chin strap seems to be reinforced well and reduces wind noise further which helps for vloggers or while using sena comms.
Weight & Feel: The helmet feels lighter than a road helmet of same weight (1550gms) due to better weight distribution. The field of view of this helmet is excellent with the wide opening characteristic of adv helmets and this feels great while riding through highway traffic or narrow town roads.
Wind noise: Being an adv helmet, I expected a lot of wind noise but I was surprised that it was almost as good as my road helmet (LS2 Storm2). The chief reason for this was the tall windscreen of the my adv 390. I tested this today on a 250km ride and the wind noise is well controlled even at speeds around the highway speed limits. For motorcycles with shorter windscreens or naked bikes, I expect wind noise to be more pronounced. Also, I had my alpine ear plugs ready in case it was a noisy experience but did not need them at all. There are a total of 7 vents and I would say the ventilation is quite good.
Overall, I feel this adventure helmet is a great choice for the adv 390 with a budget of around 9K. Few negatives are the visor movement mechanism which does not allow closing/opening in steps, micrometric buckle instead of D-ring. Barring these, it is a fantastic product in this price range and a good alternative to the premium adv helmets like Airoh, Nexx, etc.

I have the same helmet in the same colour in S size.
I was planning to sell it off as the fit was not perfect. However, didn't manage to get it sold. Instead getting a bike to match the helmet rl::D
