Interesting! I thought they will send the Fronx because they've shown a crash test video of the same, but they've sent the Baleno instead.
Also understandable, if they have actually improved Baleno's built quality, it's high time they rescue its brand image.

The other day I was day-dreaming and thinking if I was Maruti Suzuki's head, and if the company has actually improved the crash safety of Baleno, I would've introduced the new Baleno to the world by showing a crash test video of the Baleno (before showing the car fully) on stage. That would've given a big boost to the brand image of both Baleno and Maruti Suzuki.

Re: Why no new BNCAP tests in the last 2 months? Is the voluntary program a failure?

Came across this crash test footage of various cars from Chinese NCAP assessment program - for running into back of a parked truck.

Seems highly appropriate for Indian driving conditions as well. There have been many crashes reported due to haphazard parked trucks and drivers dozing and running into back of trucks (Avoiding Truck Underride Crashes). Truck under run protection (Under-Run Bars on Trucks : Why they are important for you!) is also vital to reduce the impact damage (Hyundai i20 N Line totaled | Car saved me | Claimed return-to-invoice (RTI) insurance).

Is there plan for BSNCAP to perform such tests?

Grand Vitara BNCAP testing spy pics were released long time back in July'24.

What's taking BNCAP so long to publish the results ?!

Is Maruti itself stopping BNCAP from publishing the results (maybe the results were below expectations and Maruti needs to do some "corrections" and will re-send them after modifications ?)

Or is the BNCAP not competent enough to interpret those results and publish it?

Bharat NCAP publishing some result tomorrow. I seriously wish its not the upcoming Dzire or something already tested by Global NCAP and rather be Baleno/Brezza/Grand Vitara as Maruti has already announced that they have sent these to Bharat NCAP.

At long last, new results with a confirmed date. It's Children's Day, so I am guessing it will be five stars for child occupant protection.

I am a little more optimistic about seeing some more relevant models this time. Fingers crossed.

On a side note, Mahindra has a habit of having ratings out near the end of the year. GNCAP ratings for the Marazzo, Thar, XUV700 and Scorpio-N were all released in November-December. So I wonder if it could be the XUV 3XO or Thar Roxx.

Both of them.

Curious whether the date was pre planned, or the Dzire using GNCAP woke them up.

Roxx (Mahindra Thar Roxx scores 5 stars in BNCAP tests)

XUV3XO (XUV 3XO has scored 5-Star Safety in BNCAP tests)

This is an eye opening video! Thank you for sharing. It is scary to see the performance of some of the famous luxury cars in this particular test!

BNCAP website also needs a total refresh for look and feel. The layout and structure simply doesn't work.

Is BNCAP favoring manufacturers? All released results show 5 star rated cars (except for Citroen Basalt). does that point to something?
