There is an A1 plaza somewhere just after Shadnagar if I remember correctly. It'd be too early though. You'll reach Shadnagar in around half an hour.
Best might be some idli stall along the Kurnool bypass. That would be around 2.5 hrs (220 kms). Ideal time for breakfast (7:30 am).
Gooty would be another 1 hr or so away, so you can wait and have breakfast Ghar Dhaba as others have suggested. You should reach Gooty in around 3.5 hrs (by 8:30 am or thereabouts).

Thank you spadix. That is very useful information. Gooty seems ideal and there might be more choice at Ghar Dhaba, right.

There would not be more choice at the Ghar Dhaba. It would be idli vada or Poori-sabzi and tea. They stock cold drinks, plus they have a little cleaner loo.
There is also a Garden Restaurant at Kurnool just after the toll booth(besides IBP Pump), you can have breakfast there too and If you feel hungry even before reaching Kurnool, there is Hill drive restaurant at jadcherla(no idea how it is, never tried it).

You're welcome, man!
I've dined only at the A1 a very long time back. I haven't been to Ghar Dhaba myself, but going by others' accounts, it seems like a good place for a pit stop.
I assume you'll be travelling with wife in tow? The Dhaba will then make more sense than the idli stalls.
By the way, in a pinch, you can get packed food from one of the modern BP petrol bunks enroute Kurnool. They now come with attached convenience stores, foreign-style. They have functional restrooms as well, just in case.
Edit: By the way I just remembered that we did halt at an APTDC Haritha when returning from Bengaluru. This is in between Kurnool and Hyderabad. This will definitely have some choice. But it might be too early. Anyway, you have the option. It's on the other side of the road.

There is a Ghar Dhaba just before Kurnool as well. It would be on your right when you are going from HYD to BLR.
I am planning to drive down to HYD from BLR on April 22 (Friday). Planning to start at 5 AM. Any TBHPian planning to travel to Hyderabad that day is welcome to join me on this drive.
Hi Guys,
I am planning to go from Mangalore to Hyderabad on Sunday. Please can anyone guide me the way to NH7 from Nelamangala. Secondly good places for night halt with family on the way between Bangalore and Hyderabad. And Good place to stay in Hyderabad.

I would advise that , if you have to break your journey from Mangalore to Hyderabad if coming via Bangalore, then best thing would be to break at bangalore and stay the night there itself.
There are plethora of choices for stay and if time permits you can roam around in bangalore too.
There are not such good options between Blr-Hyderabad for stay, though people have halted at Ananthapur but I guess, it would be better to halt in blr itself. Blr-hyd is now just a 7hrs run :)

For Nelamangala-Devanahalli, I would suggest you stick to ORR between YPR-Hebbal, and take (new)airport road to Devanahalli.
Regarding stay, it depends on time you reach. Bang-Hyd is 8-9 hrs on average, but depends on your driving style. If you are planning for less expensive accommodation, I could think of Hassan instead of Bangalore. Anantapur is a very good option, but at this moment, I would advice against it since there is heavy inflow of devotees to Puttaparthi closer to Anantapur because of the health condition of Satya Sai Baba.
Sorry, not an expert on stay options within Bangalore.

I would say ORR state depends on the time of the day. A much better option is:
SInce he would be at Nelamangala from NH48, just continue below the NH4 fly-over and you would be on the Nelamangala-Doddaballapur SH. Its decent SH road (rough patches here and there, but definitely doable).
Once at Doddaballpur, take NH207 to Devanahalli and you are on the NH7.
Here are more details:

Your best bet would be to stay in Bangalore,Theres hardly any place to stay between blore and hyd, atleast I would definitely not reccomend it even if there is something as it is bound to be some shady place.Nelamangala to Hyderabad would take you around 9hours.
As for places to stay in hyd, there are zillions of places to stay,if you have a budget in mind then people could accordingly advise
I did Dodballapur to Neelamangala last week. It is around 27kms and most of the route is good and the potholes are covered. However there are places where large potholes comes up suddenly on some undone roads (overall should be 4 kms of this road).

Thanks for that update. So how would you rate usage of this by-pass along with NH207 as compared to getting into Bangalore and using ORR?
I am assuming that you mean:
Devenahalli->Dodballapur->Neelamangala->Left on Tumkur to catch NICE Road->Nice Road till Mysore Road.
The pains are only at 2 places:
1. Crossing Dodballapur
2. Around 4-5 kms (intermittent) on Dodballapur to Neelamangala.
Anyone who wants to go towards Mysore from Hyd, above route has to be the 1st option as it is a lot more effortless drive than getting into Bangalore traffic.
Yes I meant this route only. I had done part of this route only and not complete.
This according to me too is the best option from NH7 Hyderabad side entry (exit) to any of the NICE road exit (entry).
Initially I was only aware of the complete NH207, for which one has to go all the way till Dobbaspet. That is quite roundabout. This option seems just apt, on which I was hoping if someone can do the whole nine yard, a good feedback log can be kept on this route.
Your update helps there!
