We visited Ooty couple of weeks back, Our stay was @ Lake View hotel(We didn't get room in Sherlock which was suggested by some of you). The cottage we got in Lake View was a renovated one and hence no complaints. Food was also good especially the buffet breakfast. Non-Veg was OK kind. Rooms service is also available.
Also, it looked like most of the cottages are renovated now.
Cars can be parked in front of most of the cottages.
If you take aged parents, then better to request for cottages close to the reception. Because most of the cottages are on a slope and hence will be very difficult for them to walk.
Good play area for Kids.
Close to Ooty lake and town.
We stayed in Executive Cottage and the charge was 2K/night including the tax.

Another decent place in Ooty which I heard about is Sagar resorts.
Its located at Ketti Valley and provides a very good view of the whole valley.
Since I myself have never been there, please check reviews before you decide. But I heard, it has a splendid of the valley.
Sagar Holiday resorts: Ooty resort stay, south India
Stayed in Hotel Roopa Mysore last weekend.
Hotel Roopa, Mysore :: Hotel Booking, Room Booking, Lodge, Accomadation, Hotels in mysore, Luxurious, Spacious rooms, suites
Ok for a night's stay. Food too expensive, very oily and not tasty. Hotel has sufficient car parking in its premises unlike many other where you have to park on the road. Buffet breakfast is complimentary. Had booked Deluxe NonA/c (Rs 1075) but moved to Executive Non A/c (RS 1375/-) as the former was too cramped and not very clean.
Also, the hotel is close to Zoo and Mysore Palace. In fact we walked down to the Palace twice.
P. S> - Ladies might not like this hotel at all. My wife did not like it :)
Hello all,
I am planning for a one day stay in tanjore. Please suggest some good hotels in Tanjore (budget , less than 1K :) )?

Ampere - I have stayed here, the view from here is splendid, not sure any other place in Ooty offers a better view of the valley. They have huge balconies, sitting there you can catch the Ooty hill train entering a tunnel and coming out. Rooms are not so big, but is fine for a family. Cottages are placed on the valley once above other, they have a winch to take you the lower level cottages, but was not working when we were there. So if you are staying in low level cottages, you may need a strong pair of legs. Nothing great to talk about the food but again the small restaurant offers a fantastic view of the valley.
Kodaikanal:
Kodai Rands @3000Rs per day, food exclusive.
1) Is located about 4kms from the town, away from the buzz
2) Offers excellent scenic view
3) A 3BHK bungalow converted to a guest-house, 1 bedroom big enough to bed 5-6 people
4) Can park 2 sedans comfortably (and take them out too)
5) Extremely well-maintained and the care-taker cooks food on order. She makes delicious Mushroom curry, Pepper Chicken and Bread Omelette.
Worth every penny.
Any reccomendations for places in Bangalore for 4nights in the range of 2000 a night. Thanks in advance

We stayed at a service apartment named 'Login Serviced Apartments' in 4th block, Koramangala, close to the BDA complex.
We paid around Rs 2000 per day for a double room (AC) with attached bath. Food was available at extra cost, but we preferred to visit the many hotels nearby.
Nothing great about the place, except that it was reasonably maintained and close to Forum Mall. The rooms are a bit small, though.
They have bigger rooms too, but were not available then.
Car was parked on the road, at the gate of the house---the road is an inner road, used only by people staying there.
