Any recent updates from travelers in this route? I'll be doing the reverse - Goa to Coimbatore, and want to do the coastal route instead of Sathy or Salem. Planning a straight drive, no night halt - hoping it won't be too much, else halt somewhere midway...

It definitely should be exhausting driving the coastal route. Are you OK with that?

No timeline restrictions - and as I'm driving solo, can choose to break journey wherever, when I'm tired.

This route has been a drive that I wanted to do for a while, and unless the roads are too bad I'm guessing I can do this in a day with adequate breaks (usually every 3 hours).

Google Maps says it'll take 17 to 18 hours, which is the ballpark duration for the other two routes too.

Planning to start at 6 am from Anjuna!

I did this route a week ago, here is the more detailed update.

The TL;DR version - routes are pretty good to excellent in Goa/ KA, except for a few under-construction sections - no big deal. After you cross into Kerala, things get a little interesting.

Goa to Bekal (600 KM) takes about 8 hours.

Bekal to Coimbatore (200 KM) takes about 8 hours.

I guess that sums it!
