Question to folks who have driven around in SK in their private car - which areas need permit for self/vehicle and where to get these made? I could not find much info online. Thanks in advance.

East (Nathula side) and north (gurudongmar/ zero point) Sikkim need permit. West (pelling etc) is mostly free. Manan bhawan, Gangtok, if I remember it correctly, is the place to secure the permits. I had mentioned it getting it in one of my threads. It was a motorcycle trip to east Sikkim.
