Accent GLE or Fiesta 1.4

Am upgrading from my 1 yr old zen to c segment. Company offers upto 5.5lacs. Help me choose between Accent GLE (5.87 on road chennai) vs Fiesta 1.4 (6.28 on road chennai)

accent
+ 10k cash discount for upgrading from maruti zen
+ music system, 4 speakers, sunfilm, remote central locking - free
- economic times reported that accent is to be phased out (and verna replaces it?) but the dealer fights till death that this is wrong and he showed some documents sent from manufacturer stating that the news is wrong.

fiesta
+ fresh new car
- not yet proven, no idea on fuel economy, no idea on resale value

ps -i have always been the reliable source of what-car-to-buy and where-to-buy among friends at office... now when it comes to me, am finding it hard....so silly.

Ex-showroom prices of accent GLE in delhi is 5.28L
in chennai= 5.31L

I got my accent GLE for 5.6L(on road delhi)
then why on road price is expensive in chennai?

price difference(5.87-5.60)=27000/-

Verna is replacing Accent GLS(1.6DOHC)
Verna will be positioned agaisnt Aveo, fiesta and City.
And accent GLE will take on smaller C segmets of indigo, ikon flair, esteem.

If budget is not any constraint, then go for Fiesta or better Aveo.

If limited budget then, go for accent.

But Accent would give you a plush ride that fieta wont be able to give.

test drive both cars, then decide.

hi,
tamilnadu registration cost is high i think. from 5.31 to 5.87 the split up is like this 19k of insurance and 37k of registration and tax.

He must have said 1.6 because it has more power, however if power and fast pickup is not an issue then 1.4 is also good. Besides the difference in price is more than 1 lac

accent probably has an edge on the performance front ... but fiesta 1.4 on the mileage front. i've heard people gettin 13-14kpl(city) . as a car...even the fiesta 1.4 is good ... test drive both cars to get an idea of 'relative performance' of the two .

fiesta - better mileage/interiors
accent-possibly better performance

decide if the extra 30K is worth it

I would take the Accent GLE especially in that Real Earth shade which a friend of mine owns. It would give you slightly better performance and FE than the Fiesta 1.4 and its much cheaper car to mantain, *** is much better than Ford as well.

Cheers

Well,
its like this -
Fiesta over accent - Mordern, bigger, safer, more comfortable, gives better FE (acc. to magazines as no one i know has the 1.4P), more fun to drive, better resale value.
Accent over Fiesta - Better A.S.S. and little else but nothing that matters.

I am saying this as we had/have 2 Ikon 1.6s and now have a Fiesta 1.4 but Diesel. My friends and relatives have Accents.
Our Ikons consistently gave us 8/5kmpl average in Mumbai while the accents average is between 5.5 (yes its true) - 8 kmpl (there are some 5 - 6 accents so it can't always be the drivers fault) so i figure the Fiesta 1.4 should give a better average.
Also, i have sat in an accent quite often and hence i have drawn the above conclusion.
I personally didn't like the back seat of the accent and that was the biggest grouse apart from it jumping around and having really poor quality safety standards.
Cheers.

90% i agree with lambo. Though A.S.S depends on dealer. Here Ford A.s.s is quet better then hyundai now days. Toooo many fiestas on roads tooo.

Lambo is that avtar a fiestas tachometer (I know its fiestas tacho just confirming). If yes man what was the speed at 4k rpm ???

something really wrong with the car or driver!!!!

If accents were giving 5.5kmpl average, then it wont have been the C-segment Best seller.

My Brand new accent is giving me 9.5-10.5kmpl, 550kms done, not even a single service done yet!

Rest, THr is difference of 70,000/- INR between Accent and fiesta.(base models)
IF u have money, go for fiesta,else...accent.

Keep one thing in mind while considering ur options, accents got a very poor back seat...especially if u r tall..theres no underthigh support at all...being tall,my head was touchin the roof, while sittin bhind the driver.

hey ,
im new here , the accent would be a better choice according to me , the accent is way better is the interiors and ford aint doing that well in india but we'll have to see how this car makes its place in the growing indian market .

the fiesta being over priced to avoid any clash with the ikon sales in india the fiesta is way smaller than the accent , i agree with kreigsmarine that the accent back seat is slightly cramped up but the fiesta is like a small cage when u sit in the back as the suspension isnt that comparible to the accent in my books the accent RULZ !!!!
