The same is the case with NHC; heavy to maintain this car... Now, getting some inclination towards Black Baleno
I was a passionate Ford owner, the constant trips to the service garage and their fat bills killed that love. I still think their cars are well put together, fit and finish is better than the Baleno. But now the maintenance bills on the Baleno are so light, I marvel I paid so much while I had the Ford. Ford service and maintenance costs are heavy, unless its being paid by the company, stay away. Maruti service is great, and you have a choice of garages if one starts gouging you.
Go for the black Baleno, great engine, put some snazzy alloys and you won't regret it.

Yes, now it seems like i will have to get myself a Black beauty Baleno only as other cars you can purchase but maintaining seems like a pain.... Have to talk it over with my dad for this.... ... i am making my mind for Baleno now... So is Vxi model good... as it comes with Alloys, spoiler as well.... Also Maruti was offering 50 K discount recently... Guys you know is it still on; if yes what is the on road cost of Lxi and Vxi model in Delhi...

This thread started with Fiesta, moved to NHC... and now it seems to getting to Baleno ... Baleno simply rules this forum.....

I am going to do all the calculations once again... but seems VFM car is just Baleno....

The Vxi is worth the extra amount paid for it. Apart from the alloys, wider tyres (than the ones on Lxi) and spoiler, the main attraction is the automatic climate control feature. Plus the silver console, power antennae etc etc. If you can afford it, go for the Vxi.

Be aware that black color cars are a little more difficult to maintain - dust is more visible on black/dark cars. Keep this in mind and if you find that an issue, the Silky Silver is a nice color. But then a black Baleno looks awesome.

Don't worry about the newspaper. The deal is very much there. Apart from the discount officially offered, you can bargain and get more on top of that. Get quotes from different dealers and bargain to get the best deal.

I was a passionate Ford owner too. Owned a Ford Maverick, Ford Taunus 2.0 Ghia, Ford Mustang, and long-leased Ford Fiesta, Ford Escort Orion, the rare 1986 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth and Australian Ford Falcon station wagon. When Ford India eventually introduces a right-sized car between the Fiesta and the Mondeo-- (the erstwhile Escort was right there), we'll consider.

Until then there is the curvy 1.6 litre Baleno VXi. It comes fully loaded with 11-spoke 14-inch alloys with 185/65R14 tubeless tires, capable climate control computer, rear window demister, Kenwood MP3 player with power antenna, height adjustable front seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel, motorized headlamp leveling, remote keyless entry and rear spoiler with stop LED.

Each of the colors: Pearl Silver, Silky Silver, Midnight Black, Superior White and Bean Blue all have their loyal aficionados. Go for whatever appeals to your fancy.
