Yup... the Sports is really good value for money at the current pricing with decent dealer discounts. The dealer told me he's sold 21 cedias this month. All but one are the Sports model.

Update on my boss's Cedia. Car has now done 2500kms. He used it mainly in the city albeit one highway run.

The city mileage for a full tank was 11.4kmpl.

After filling up he took the car to chennai and back. The highway mileage was again 15.5kmpl.

Tyres upgraded?

Went to Southern today to check out the Cedia Sport. Liked it a lot but not the interiors which seemed to be a bit gloomy with the accent on dark colours. Wife thought it was overly masculine too and was also forced to agree that the leather upholstery is not very practical. I have a hyperactive 3 year old whose car seat will definitely leave indentations on the leather after prolonged use.

Exterior was great (they had only a Aussie Yellow Sport) and also the Ashton Gray, Nordic Blue and a County Beige in the Spirit/Select versions. Liked the Select which is currently 9.40 after corporate discount etc.

Am leaning towards it as I like the VFM package. Before people start warning me about resale value let me state that its not a factor for me: I intend to keep this car for 4/5 years by which time resale value would have run its course with all the competitors too. Anyway, in 2011/2012, we will have such world-class cars in India that the current crop of Toyota Corolla and Skoda Octys will look ancient come what may!

Also am interested in replacing tyres with ones of better width while keeping the stock alloys. Have already checked out the huge tyre thread on TBHP but could someone who has actually changed his stock to the recommended 215 15"? Resale value of stock tyres and name of dealer would be very appreciated!

Thanks,

The sport interiors are modelled on the EVO. Hence the all dark grey/black style. I hate beige so anything other than beige is fine with me. Check the spirit or select incase you want standard beige interiors and a less aggressive look.

That car is something else. Pity it didn't come with a hotter mill, but man, it handles!

Reign, do we ever get to meet/see you and your car?

bought the cedia a month back. has done 1400 kms now. red sports trim from lathangi. handles like a dream. it just never ceases to amaze me what a torquey and in-control car this is. fuel average for in city driving has been between 9.8 to 10.5 kmpl. also, fantastic braking, it just stops bang on, no pitch or roll or shudder. clean in control braking.

Last month when I checked with Metro Motors in Mumbai; he was offering 25k dealer discount + finance discount.

So ya, total discount is about 50K.

Sports is avaialble for 10.39 OTR Mumbai.

If you go for finance from Dealer, they usually give discount of about 2-4% on interest. This you can inbuilt in EMI or go for cash discount.
So if you go for 7L finanance if works out about 30K.

This is based on current interest rates of 13-14%

^^Most dealers offer ICICI. Thats the crappiest bank on earth. Anyway the actual interest rate from decent banks is more around 11.5% not 13-14%.
