For full-tank, some pumps overflows the tank whereas some would stop well short of full capacity. hence, mileage for a particular drive would not give accurate figure in all probabities. but then looking at the above figures, we're not talking about accuracy here, are we?
Certainly not. That's is why we take the average and mine is just one year over. Its the figure we are seeing for the past 13K kms of driving - With various fuel station from BP to HP to IOC and in different states from KA to TN to Ap to KL... Not just 1 or 2 or 3 drives

But then the figures you quoted for Aveo & SX4 are much higher than what MAJORITY of owners/ users of Aveo & SX4 get.

Linea
1. Rear seat comfort for 3 people - as long as all of them are going to be 6'+
2. Driver comfort (for long drives-self drive) - definately there
3. Mileage - ~11.5 in city ~15 highway
4. Performance - Not your race track drving but is not slow either
5. Decent style - 100%

SX4
1. Rear seat comfort for 3 people - the middle seat is very uncomfortable
2. Driver comfort (for long drives-self drive) - definately there
3. Mileage - ~10 in city ~15 highway from a friend who owns one
4. Performance - its definately fast
5. Decent style - if you like the rounded styling sure

If you want great A.S.S go for SX4, if you want a great car go for Linea,

If you want opinion on Aveo I dont have it

Go for Linea. Overall best in the segment.

If AVEO then choose UVA (AVEO with 1/3rd boot).

Cheers!

SX4 is the best compromise. And they have improved the middle rear seat lately(read it here).

I TD-ed the Aveo a year earlier and the major problem I had was the knee hitting the dashboard(couldnt find an optimal driving position) and also the performance was pretty bland(it was the 1.4 one).

Linea,i feel,is a bit underpowered although except that is a good car.

All of them will give a FE of around 11-13(depends on driving style).

As a highaway car,SX4 is by far the best

Well, let me put it this way, If it going to be a chauffer driven car then Linea if a good buy because the engine is really underpowered! For a self drive, SX4 is the best option of the three. Also SX4's maintainance would be cheaper comparatively.

Thanks all for the guidance and support.

If its SX4, I may go for SX4 vxi and would like to add complete underbody kit with spoiler. Will this drastically reduce the ground clearance (underbody kit)... sorry if am stupid.. I am a novice in all these things...

Also today I test drove Linea Diesel, I was impressed with it when compared to petrol. I have to redo the math for loan and other stuff if I decide on Linea diesel..

Again, thanks for all the valuable inputs.

Regards
Sathya

Arrived at a decision....

Hi All,

It has been a tiring day today and I have finally decided to go ahead with Linea Diesel Dynamic. The top contender was SX4 ZXi.

My choice predominantly was because of the following factors:

1. Comfort for 3 passengers - Linea (larger shoulder room and no middle seat protrusions)
2. Style - Linea - I have fallen for it and I cannot stop drooling. My wife is now jealous!
3. Power - SX4 definitely but Linea is not bad either and it matches my swift driving pleasure except for initial drag racing stuff. Linea is good in 20-80 and 40-100 3rd/4th gear pull.... I liked it.
4. FE - Line wins hands down
5. Driver comfort - SX4 followed by Linea - but not too bad to complain either...
6. Handling - Both are good..

So based on the analysis, have decided to book Linea Diesel Dynamic..

Hope I have made the right choice...

Regards,
Sathya

Sathya,

Congrats on the decision. Linea is a wonderful car

May I ask you why Linea Diesel Dynamic and not Linea Petrol Emotion Plus? Why I'm asking is that for almost same ownership cost covering next 5-6 years, you'll get absolutely fabulous features

Congrats. Like many others on tbhp, you have fallen for the linea as well. I am sure linea will live up to your expectations and give you a very pleasurable ownership experience. Cheers.

The only thing was I was not able to get going with the Petrol's performance. The diesel's torque comes handy even though it is definitely an underpowered motor. My running is only close to 1000KM/month. But am not able to accept petrol's sluggish performance given the fact that am driving a Swift now.

I may Pete the car once the Pete's box is available.

Regards,
Sathya
