hi mohan, in my opinion you should tell your brother to test drive the high end Dzire, the linea (whichever is in budget) and the Manza. the manza is a refined car (at least compared to earlier TATAs) and the tata mototrs really seem to have learnt a lesson or two from history.

Dont take a decision without TD-ing the vehicles at least twice after a gap of at least two-three, jumping between vehicles to get the real feel.

all the best for the buy

Actually, wait for the Polo. Big hatches do have snob value and if he's open to the idea, that probably will be a good option. If he doesn't want a hatch, then a used sedan I guess.

I would say search for a used Corolla. 3-4 years old top end corolla can be your for 7 lacs. Very reliable and lots of snob value.

Looking at your requirements by suggestion would be:

1. Linea base version
2. Fiesta base version (if he can stretch till 6.8L then ZXi with ABS, ICE is also available)

Now since he has a parking space constraint, Fiesta will be a better choice, as Linea is definitely bigger than Fiesta.

Long due update

We decided to go ahead with a black Manza Aqua Qudrajet 90. The car was delivered on Thursday. No freebies but some consolation prizes such as mud flaps, mats and steering cover etc.
I am planning to write a in-detail report on initial ownership experiences. So..
Stay tuned

Congrats!! Black Manza woww!!
So you were able to convince your bro against 3 out of 4 points mentioned in the initial post.

Quote:
1. Proven hassel-free ownership for the next 5-7 yrs (atleast).
2. sound build quality
3. Has atleast some snob value
4. Has to be an international model - not a model

Great choice i must say

Too bad not a variety of options are avl for sedans in the 6.5 l bracket

I bought a Siena 100 hp 6 yrs back for 5.10lacs - am yet to see such a VFM sedan with such power in this price range...
I am looking for a upgrade this year ( max 7 lacs)....not too happy with the current choices..

Ford Fiesta Petrol..maybe...but a Ford....sigh !

Well, someone who didn't want to touch a TATA with a 100 ft pole has actually bought it. On a serious note, the car looks huge in flesh, pics do no justice to it.
