Entry level sedan with some snob value

Hi there:
My bro is looking for a entry level sedan (preferably diesel one as he drives 1100-1200 km on avg per month - he won't mind on petrol either as his budget is fixed) with 6.5 lacs in his wallet. His requirements are as follows (though it sounds bit odd, atleast it was to me)

Proven hassel-free ownership for the next 5-7 yrs (atleast).
sound build quality
Has atleast some snob value
Has to be an international model - not a model

I tried to reco him manza - but he said it neither is a international model, nor has got reputation on build quaity. On the similar line, he dropped the idea of Dzire. Should I refer him Linea or suggest him to wait for VW Polo Sedan?
What ya'll say?

Polo will come in hatchback first i believe.

Budget (Rs.6.5L) seems shade low for a sedan? Ofcourse hyundai Accent will come under this budget.
Otherwise - how about trying Fiesta or Honda (honda again high on costing) alongwith Linea (as you suggested)
Take TD on all cars and decide !

Entry level - AND - Snob Value. Not a common mix, IMO. And not at 6.5L, unless you want to try a higher end hatch.

The best option would have been to go for the Dzire or the Manza.Try convincing him that Dzire is basically the swift,which is an international model.

As he is not keen on these two, the only options left in this price range are--
Diesel- Renault Logan, Ford Ikon.
Petrol- Hyundai Accent, Renault Logan, Fiat Linea, Ford Ikon, Chevrolet Aveo,Ford Fiesta.

Since Dzire and Manza are out i guess he is left with Accent or Ikon ( stay away from Logan) but both these cars are dated. I think Fiesta base would be a good buy. If you can convince him for a premium hatch the i20 would be a good option too.

What is snob value? Google says, "These goods usually have a high economic value, but low practical value. The less of an item available, the higher its snob value."

Honestly none of them have any snob value (This segment is price sensitive and VFM is the rule of the game). However the manza carries the new kid on the block tag and is hopefull to take away some awards in the most improved car or most CFM categories in the months to come.

What's hot in snob value? A premium hatch like the i20!

With a budget of 7-7.25 L (On road price) one can get the Fiesta or Linea. Do they have snob value is debatable though

snob value - Does this mean ''Looking for a special status'' which, one expect when travelling in a car - means need atleast C+ segment cars?. Owning a Merc or BMW may give one excellent snob value - this my opinion only.

get the Base Fiesta 1.6
Fully loaded with Mp3 player, PS, PW, PL.
Compact Sedan feeling, decent FE. Excellent to drive, sturdy on the highway.
Maintainence is on far with the competition. No major issues reported for the car or the engine. See ownership reviews.

Approx 6.25 on road Hyderabad.
You will have spare cash for Fog lights, seat covers, and few basic feel-good accecories.

For snob value for so little money, you need to look at used car market. then again location is also a factor
In a village a SX4 can have tremendous snob value, but in Delhi, even a Civic has little snob value.
