Feature 8 - Guarantees a smooth ride :
Dual Mass Flywheel

Some one please explain this to me. How is the ride and flywheel related? Contest aside, I am technically curious.

As in with this fancy flywheel there will be less jerky gearchanges or something similar? If yes, is smoother gearchange = smooth ride?

Feature 9 - Relax, as this takes the wheel :
Cruise Control

Cruise control regulates speed... isnt the term "take the wheel" very inaccurately used here?

Exactly my point.. I would love to meet the guys who designed these hints! The least Tata could have done is provide for sound technical guys to come with the hints.

@Cyrus43: BTW i completed the first Tata Aria contest as well which I think was beautifully executed and designed. It actually told you what each part does. I didnot say anything about that contest did I? I didnt win an Aria then. I complete or participate in these more to improve my own knowledge about cars available today to us. And yes I would love to win something someday if I can while doing something like this. FYI I dont bother filling those lotteries u get when you shop for this much, etc at malls cos I know that I am not that lucky to win a car if I have never even won 100 bucks in something like Tambola!

Re: Win a Tata Aria Contest not being managed well

Having read thru the entire thread I feel that one thing Tata has gained from this promotional event is bad publicity.
Now many might argue on the line "Badnaam sahi naam to hai" (Even though you are hated atleast everyone knows you), but this does'nt work in this case. A bad publicity can really ruin a good product to the extent that it can have a bearing effect on other products too of the same company.

Re: Win a Tata Aria Contest not being managed well

At first i was casually reading all the posts here. After all the complaints that the T&C may have changed, not so good clues, etc, end of day one thing is clear:- ALL BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS ACT IN THEIR OWN SELF INTEREST.
Now there is nothing much that we can do. Sure as Team BHP members we stand a 'better chance' to name the parts in the contest accurately. However, its up to the company's discretion to name the winner ( fair and square, i dont care). So maybe, look at it this way - Perhaps TATA Motors were shocked to find so many correct answers that they may have been forced to change certain hints leading to the change in T&C. End of day, its all business, a gimmick to earn a few brownie points. I am sure people must be flocking to the showroom to express interest in the Aria (thanks to the contest). Moreover a sizeable proportion of these curious people may have ended up as potential customers. Tata-1, People of India-0.
Again, this is only my deduction. I know i could be wrong!

Cheers!

Re: Win a Tata Aria Contest not being managed well

Ok guys I am not sure but my repeated questions to them on fb have gone unanswered because of which I believe that this is true. They have not announced the winner even now and there is no mention of it on their website or fb page.

Arent the guys who are finalists bothering them to find out who won? Also, are they planning to give the car away or not? Or now that the 4X2 is launched and its taking up all the space on their wall they have conveniently forgotten about the competition?

I am sure the finalists can take them to court if they dont announce the winners! True?

Yes, you are wrong on at least one count - no sizable proportion of window shoppers are getting converted into potential customers, going by the numbers
Maybe that's why the marketing team has forgotten about the contest - they might be getting fried by the top brass for a flop marketing campaign
