Looks like they tried to copy American version of their ad. It feature Tim Williams as Trivago guy, and people hate it to the core.

re: The Best & Worst Advertisements in India

Two advertisements which I find annoying these days:

1. The one where a girl latches onto Akshay Kumar's back. - Deo

2. The one where a man/woman are ripping each others clothes off. - Contraceptive

Yes I know that. Looked it up the day I saw this ad as I wanted to find something about a guy who was irritating me so much. The other give away was that this guy neither looks like a model nor can he act for nuts.

In fact one of the days I was joking with Brother-in-law about this fellow and told him that he probably is trying to create his portfolio in terms of acting/commercials so that when trivago fails in India (given his acting and this ad, I have a very strong feeling that would happen), he can still find an alternative career path as an actor or a side kick in some sitcom/films.

Latest Zoomcar ad. Is it going to make negative impact on Ford Ecosport sale?

On the contrary, I think this is a smart ad strategy by Trivago. The more he irritates there is top-of-the-mind recall for Trivago. One of the main objectives of advertising is get into that top-of-the-mind recall spaces. In this single team-bhp there are three mentions of Trivago. Just do a dipstick survey on travel portals with your family/colleagues and see which names come on top ? I bet Trivago will be among top 3.

Trivago strategy is to have their respective country heads as the anchor for the ads in each country. Hence we have the same irritating ads in whichever country you see the ad in.

I agree about being on top of the head for sure but only to ensure I never visit that site for a booking. There are many other sites I can go to who even provide cheaper bookings in many cases. So if my first statement is what they are aiming for, then I totally agree with you but if it is to ensure business, I doubt that is happening within my family at least.

Amongst the best ads I have seen.
Love the way how Serena's father (Richard William) compliments her at the end. Also don't miss the reactions of both of them at 0.43.

Is the the real Jeremy Clarkson??
If yes, I am happy to see him in Indian ad even if the ad itself is awful. His expressions in the beginning are just so good.

A stupid and irresponsible ad by Renault.
Airbags hai Abs hai. So just go into unknown territory without further thought.
I want to know what they were smoking when they made this Ad.

Surprisingly they run the same guy even now, but as posted by Safety is Param if the guy is one of their top execs, can't really say anything about his decision to feature himself !
But just because I'm super irritated by this ad, never use their website as well ! Now I realise, every job is better left to professionals/experts!

The guy might be their top ranking exec & good at his job, but probably not a convincing model who can persuade people to use their services.

re: The Best & Worst Advertisements in India

I can't believe nobody has posted about the "Santoor" advt. It is single the most absolutely annoying advt that's played repeatedly across channels.

It's the one thing my whole extended family has disliked & decided (in the WhatsApp groups of both mum & dad's side) to undisputedly report. The oldies even confirmed to boycott any TV serial that the lead actress works in!
I mean, who knew there was SO much profit in soaps to keep this advt consistently on across SO MANY channels for years!?
