correct - the ad is actually a nice ad - heartwarming in a way. also reminiscent of a more innocent time/ era where the necessity for "political correctness" etc didnt exist.

Videocon: Change is Everything

A new breed of irritating ads by Videocon. The ad is completely animated and shows the two green thingies (!?!) jump up to the moon and get him down to cheer an infant. There are a couple of variants bordering around the same theme. Don't know what Videocon is trying to say with these ads. Aren't they selling home appliances anymore?

EDIT: The background score is equally pathetic - goes "yeah, yeah yeah, yeah..."

First, they are trying to 'bond' with consumers 'emotionally'. Later they will sell what they have.

Few years back Coca Cola was trying to prove that cold means Coca Cola. Now that bug has bitten Cadbury's - they are now trying to prove sweets means Diary Milk.

BTW, the best of their effort was when they made Amitabh Bachchan's cow win a beauty pageant !!

The ad agency could have found thousand of other ways to cheer the teacher. But making a kid act like a dog to sell your product is sickening and disgusting and they are teaching the kids to dirty their cloths by such ads so their product could sell more. Even their tag line "daag acche hain' also means the same. Have these people no sense of decency left with them.

Unilever should learn that there are still some decent ways left to make money.

I watched the Saif Kareena Ad for some Television company. Boy it was nice. Somehow I feel the ending could have been different. The other female was better than Kareena. Drat!

I agree that this is a really stupid ad. It is taking the 'emotional' theme too far for something like a detergent powder. The agency has run out of ideas. The first ad in the 'daag achhe hain" where the little boy tries to console his little sister by splashing around in the puddle was good and made sense. But this new ad....silly. Very silly

Sleepwell

I really like the Sleepwell series of ads. I have seen two of them. One where the man washes a car and later finds that it was someone else's and the other where the mother drags a child in the departmental store and finds out it is someone else's kid.

Good humour although the message is a little weak.
