Re: Ferrari Collectibles from your friendly Shell Outlet

Filled up the car and bike yesterday with SULP. Car took in 14 litres and the bike 10 litres. Since I am a regular customer, they invited me to combine both the invoices and buy one of the car toys (I can't bring myself to think of them as scale models!). All the models were available but I was not impressed by any of them.

Since my son is pestering me to get one for him, I intend to take him there this week-end and let him choose one. I don't think it is worth Rs 250.00, even for a LEGO.

Thanks Max Torque. This is tough luck, I visited Chinchwad last month and this place is not too far off from there. My friends though live in Sopan Baug and Victoria lane in Ghorpuri Cantt which are at the opposite end of the city. I was hoping this would be the pump in Kharadi but seems that one remains shut.

If I go there again, I will inquire about it and update you. By the way how many pieces you require?

Not sure but the below article dated 17th Feb could be the reason since the timeframe matches.

Quote:
Petrol pumps are known to cheat customers but now oil companies themselves are found fooling customers. Sleuths of the legal metrology department on Saturday found oil companies insisting on use of certain dispensing machines that could be operated with a remote control to manipulate the price and quantity.

Officials have registered cases against 10 petrol pumps owned by SHELL, IOC, HPC and BPC oil companies using dispensing pumps made by Tatsuno India Private Ltd.

The particular make of dispensing pumps are used by oil companies for price alteration and calibration measurement using remote-control system.

I would have happily done it without any inducement, but the girl added once I got their email acknowledgement, I will be given Rs 100.00 worth of SULP free, which I thought was an icing on the cake.

After I participated and gave my feed back, the message flashed "Thank you for your participation! Your name has been included for a lucky dip and if you are the winner, you will get free SULP worth Rs 100.00!"

A raffle for Rs 100.00 worth of fuel? Come on Shell! This is an insult! I would have been perfectly happy with a mere "thank you!"
I had totally forgotten about this, but last month I received an SMS from Shell thanking me for the participation. I was supposed to show the SMS at the Shell station and claim Rs 100.00 worth of SULP.

After filling the tank of My car, I showed the message to them and they deducted Rs 100.00 from the bill amount!

Are the Shell marketing guys reading this thread, perhaps?!

Re: Ferrari Collectibles from your friendly Shell Outlet

Got a lego F40 from hinjewadi pump today - From the outside it did not impress me but my 4 year old is a car freak and has also been pushing me to get a lego toy for him lately. So, this serves both and went for it.

The deal:

I filled about 34 Litres of unleaded petrol in my Verna - did not notice what is the minimum fill forthe offer.
MRP = 700+
Offer Price = 250
Discount = 3 Rs per litre = 3 *34 =Rs 102
Cost to pocket = 250 - 102 = 148.

Re: Ferrari Collectibles from your friendly Shell Outlet

I will be in Poona later this week. Is it possible to buy the scale models without purchasing fuel? Is this offer available in Bombay also??
