Where ever I see them I'll stop and have a good look. When I was in my teens and later on a student a held a part time job working in a magnificent hobby shop, selling model cars, trains, RC planes etc. etc. Those were the days.

Anyway, beside the few fire engines I have two model model cars
I bought both these models years ago on a classic car exhibition in Germany, Techno Classica in Essen. I've also put a post on my most recent visit somewhere on the forum.

Both these models are made by Minichamps. They are reasonable well detailled and cost around Euro 15 a piece. The reason I bought them is I own the real life size one as well. They are identical, to the last detail, colour, wheels, hub caps everything. Mine are a 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider and a 1982 Mercedes W123.

Minichamps makes really good 1/43 models for a decent price. If you're really interested in Fire Engines, why don't you buy the 1/64 models from Code3 Collectibles ? They're highly detailed and expensive, but worth the money.

Ooh! I love that Spider! Deliciously evocative car!!
I 've also got a similar scale model of the Alfa Spider along with several Lancias as well.

I am playing the Autocar F1 predictor contest and my predictions for the Spanish GP were correct and I Won this Mclaren 2011 F1 car driven by Lewis. clap:

I'm looking for a 1:18 Chrysler 300 B in White (Maisto), unable to find in Delhi :(

Anybody here who could help me.. PLEASE!

I am looking for a 1:24 Jaguar XJ from Welly, but haven't found one at a reasonable price, all are imports from US priced over 2K.

I came across a website http://www.vicky.in/shopping/welly,
where they have Welly , maisto, Autoart diecasts, has anybody tried shopping from them? or if you know any other source for welly let me know guys.

As you see, it is a hit or miss game with vicky.in. You might have to call them up first to confirm the availability & even then, the shipping can be a gamble.
As for the Jag, you will have to scan through real shops as they might've some unsold stock. There was one at my place sometime back.

Importing a scale model from US is a sheer waste of money. Try the local mall, or Hamleys if there's one in your city. Availability of 1/24 models is sort of a pain in India.

Are you talking of a 1956 Chrysler 300B or was that a typo error and you meant 300C ?

Visited a family last weekend, and was pleasantly surprised to see a maisto in the kid's toy collection. Attention to detail is very impressive!

That's an old product, I doubt if it even made it to our shores. Also never made after 2010, so the chances are zero.

I have a July 2012 import in black (manufactured 2011 December)!

So, chances are not zero but it might take some more miles...

This thread which has seen fantastic models ever since its inception and which has helped many a collector build his collection by the wealth of information that was being exchanged is now in the dumps.

All that we get to see now are Hotwheels and some models that can be best classified as TOYS.

Yes it can be frustrating when TOYS are posted in a scale model thread. Then again, no guidelines as such were coined for the same i think. Hope it gets addressed soon.

Regarding the information sharing part, Tbhp on this subject served its time well & dedicated forums like SMC took over that role to an extend & is doing a fine job at that, with much more diversity than what could've been possible with a single thread. I for one find this thread these days to be more like a photo archive, while saving the finer details for a dedicated forum.

I'm sure Dippy meant 'diecast' scale models when he started this amazing treat, so definitely, TOYS should be kept out of this area!
