Team-BHP - The Scale Model Thread

I got these little chaps from the US via a friend.
1. A nice little red 1:64 matchbox jeep
2. A little grey matchbox 1:64 Mini Cooper - this is a complementary piece to the red one that I already have.
3. The Greenlight 1967 Italian Job Mini Cooper in White 1:64.

I have had the Red and the Blue Italian Job Mini Coopers for about 2 years now but could never find or get their brother in white until last week when I finally found one piece on Amazon USA. Promptly ordered it to complete the collection. And my friend kindly brought it down to me. So Ive pictures all three here together.

I remember the day these Minis became available at K&D. Since I primarily love to collect Jeeps, somehow these grabbed my attention, probably because of the color variations.

One of the chases is still available at K&D site though, just in case if you are interested to collect them.

Some of the GT variations, the dirty version looks much appealing though.

I got the blue and red mini from K&D but Harsh said he absolutely wasnt able to get me the white one.
I also love Jeeps. But K&D hasnt any new ones.

Got to do with importing issues for Mattel who manufactures both Hotwheels and Matchbox models. Strangely however, all kinds of cheap Chinese imitations and unlicensed models are flowing in.

Private sellers on Instagram etc are having a roll selling at super inflated prices.

I saw the postings on the Facebook page. Next time I come across, will try capturing a screen shot. In the meantime, you can check if there is any release list from the AW guys. Manufacturers usually have such a list, highlighting their future releases :thumbs up

So I got my hands on the Hot Wheels Premium 1:64 Knight Rider KITT. Bought it on Wallmart and a friend carried it along.

Goes well with the KITT Super Pursuit mode I got earlier:

I also have a 1:18 scale KITT made by ERTL models. It comes with a working scanner, winch and eject seat.

Gorgeous model! I have had several good looks at this model. It is very well made with lots of details. I keep checking model car shops and web shops to see if they will do one in the exact colour of my W123 200, thistle green. So far no luck. I plan to visit the classic Grand Prix at the Nurnburgring in August. Always lots of models for sale. Fingers crossed!

Whatever else it may be, my scale model collection is pretty eclectic. And almost all the cars are in their original packaging except those which I really like and want to handle and play with once in a while. And for that, I buy some duplicates.

Yes. Certainly I am. About All sorts of Automobiles and Mechanical things.:cool:

I used to love Indias Hobby Centre and New Market in Calcutta. Used to get the occasional matchbox toy there. But mostly the Indian Fiat and Ambassador metal die cast with little diamond like crystals like ‘eyes’ for headlamps. Now the only Indian cars seem to come from the toy maker Centy and they are all cheap plastic.

Except the officially commissioned Tata and Mahindra models which appear to come from China.
