Hey, I agree that he does deserve it but on teh flip side the world knows that US is responsible for this and it was just a mock court set up with a pre determined course for his wiping him out ... If one of his country men had killed him , I wud have said fine but now that its the Americans who are involved - I SAY CRAP !!

Why doesnt Bush get tried for killing so many Iraqis sinnce they invaded , and what did they invade for ... a few items that they just couldn't seem to find . Its the US who is acting as the BIG BULLY ... why didnt they act on Pakistan for killing so many Indians, or even let Indians do the same ???

Its a pathetic state of affairs and in such a scene I wish Saddams men hit back at the American forces sittiing in Iraq .... !!!

Cheers

The Americans have killed more Iraqis than Saddam has. If crimes against humanity were what they were trying him for, G.W. Bush is a bigger butcher.

I was abt to post that but got distracted

I agree that Saddam deserves the death penalty. But what is sad is that Bush is the executioner.......

Coz Bush is responsible for more deaths worldwide than anyone on this planet ( my personal opinion.)

This is sad. While Saddam might have his skeletons-in-closet, we're looking at the one nation that has the most of them - 1st H-bomb test, 1st A-bomb test, large-scale massacre of local Red Indian natives during the settlement wars of the 1800s, black discrimination, *******ization of women, Vietnam - napalm gas , Korea...

Look at what Iraq has become today - the world's hotspot of terrorism /Al Qaida and violence, overtaking Palestine. Atleast during the Saddam years, Iraq was stable internally/externally.

I truly miss the Soviet Union - the only power that kicked the US where it mattered.

On one hand, one of history's most brutal men...but that was the only life he ever knew if you read his biography

On the other hand, the only person to modernise Iraq is a space of 15 years and raise literacy levels from 55% to 80% in less than a decade. Political freedom was zilch but there was freedom to innovate, to learn. Secularism was there ...as also whisky!!!

What he did to his people was unforgivable but the invaders ain't any better. Am not one to define justice but when the judiciary has been appointed by an alien power contra to him ,he ain't got much of a chance

Like al quaeda, a creation of the US gone wrong.

C'mon guys, Saddam killed every one of his political rivals including his own son-in-law. Even gassed the Kurds.. his own people.

Violence in Iraq is Shieites and Sunnis killing each other. Wonder what Osama has to say about this...he acts like the 2nd prophet of Islam.

Hey, So he did ... but teh history of Iraq has always been filled with such acts so why only single him out and the point here is that its teh US whos acting as teh judicial system .

If it was an Iraqi court that decided to do it .. FAIR ENOUGH , but it isnt -- its a mock set up being controlled by the so called western powers for their own interest .

As for political rivals .,.... Bush is doing the same -- just that its a political rival of a diff country -- Why not try Bush and award him the same punishment ?

And Osama ... well he never will be caught --- after all he is just a stooge in the hands of the Americans . He goes and creates trouble where the US have an interest -- then they come and act as Messiahs of Peace and take over teh country !!! Osama , Im sure has a daily chat with Bush -- WHERE SHUD I GO NEXT ??

Cheers

Has anyone punished the turks who massacred more armenians than the germans killed jews ?

Darfur....... kurds, the list goes on

Once the man is hanged, expect more problems. He should be banished and put into life imprisonment far far away. The forthcoming execution is merely an eyewash to the lack of law and order

Punishing the guilty is perfectly legitimate, but that coming from hypocrites like Bush is nothing but settling old scores. There were and are tons of other dictators who are roaming around the world and enjoying freedom at expense of their citizens'. So taking out Saddam alone smells purely rotten.

To be very honest, I was expecting some major news on Iraq front, since Bush and republicans are losing to badly on domestic front. They had to give out some cheerful news. Looks like it will backfire just like the original invasion on Iraq.
