Hey guys!
Apologies for bringing up an old thread. I was thinking of picking up an RC truck. Checked out some of the Traxxas (TRAXXAS) models. They look really good.

Any idea where they would be available in Pune/Mumbai? Any of the members into this hobby? Should I pick up an electric one or a nitro truck? Any other popular brands other than Traxxas?

Hi

My Brother in Pune Owns Many Nitro & Electric Powered Cars & Planes here.

The Nitro Powered ones are dam fast.
I have seen such cars reach 40Kms /hr speed & more.

If your budget permits Go in for the 4 wheel drive offroad trucks they are cool.

Nitro Planes are also Fun to fly. Pune is a hOtbed for Plane Flying
it is Done at Hadapsar gliding Club on weekends.

@ paras - u will get an electronic one for that amount. Dont know if u get those at the hobby shop in mumbai

@ Fatal3rror - Buying an Electric or Nitro powered depends on your budget. Nitro ones are expensive & have recuring expenses - Fuel & Glow Plugs & general maintenance. U stay in pune & there are no shops in pune where u can buy this stuff, only in mumbai.

Anyone from Pune/mumbai Game for a RC meet?.

Hey!
Thanks for the tip guys.
Planet_rocker - The RC car's nice but I am looking for an offroader, a truck perhaps.
Shreeram - Now, that's exactly what I am looking for. I don't mind spending on the buying the RC vehicle or maintaining it. The only point is that I have 'shunya' fundaes about it, so I need someone to handhold me into this hobby. I am not really into RC flying.
I don't mind an RC meet, except that none of us Pune TBhpians have any RC stuff! So probably, it's only going to be your brother's (in case he can join us). Thanks a lot for the addresses.

hi

I have also contacted other non official RC clubs from different sites & have received positive relys from many pune residents owning RC cars.

I am thinking of bringing tham all together for a grand Meet. Lets hope it gets materialized soon.

i have a buggy, battery operated, maxes out at around 35kmph+, the only issue is the battery - discharges in about 20 mins of rigrous use.
it costs about 7K but i got it cheaper. a friend of mine imports car models battery/nitro cars/trucks.
here is a pic of my buggy, i think it likes LBM -
