There are a few songs it seems I have been listening to forever. A milli, Lollipop (remix n orginal), 99 problems, Battle without honour (something something) - Kill Bill, the "cake factory" score from the movie "Get smart" alongwith a good mix of Linkin Park, Akon and bollywood numbers - both old and new. Am loving the "Gal mitthi mitthi bol" from Aisha.

Edit - forgot to add numbers from Nusrat and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, especially "ankiaan udeek diyan" and "kinna sona" - both live versions. Awesome.

must be "the doors", even though I'm a big fan of lamb of god, bodom, slayer but I dont listen to them while driving. Some say if you put slayer you will (101% of the time) press accelerator in place of break

I listen to everything - but these two have been constants:

1. Judas Priest (all songs)
2. Rammstein (all songs)

Car songs have a unique sound: my own favourite is Red Barchetta by Rush. It has the added novelty of being a song about a car as well!

Porcupine Tree's The Creator Had A Master Tape is an amazing number to drive to as well, but one of the side effects is that it makes you go faster and faster as the song builds up. I realised this on the expressway driving alone one weekend when the song ended and I realised with a start that I was nearly touching 150 on the speedo!

I agree! This is one Indian song which rocks while driving

I see a lot of good Hard rock and Metal options here.

The other day in TOI, there was a checklist to safe driving. The last point was - 'Do not listen to Heavy Metal Music'

There's only 2 types of people in this world.
those who love heavy metal, and those who tell others not to listen to such "noise"!!
i am the first, and i ignore the rest in that regard.

essential stuff for a good drive!!

add JP's painkiller to the list!!

Another Porcupine Tree fan!

'Hatesong' by them has such a catchy baseline! 'Heartattack In A Layby', 'Lazarus', 'Blackest Eyes' and 'Trains' are brilliant songs to tune to while on a drive! I'd add all the songs by Audioslave, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam on the 'must-listen-to-while-on-a-drive' list!

Oh and I completely agree with mayankk! Some people just don't understand heavy-metal and they never would.

Soooo freaking many !!! impossible to say. Depends a lot on the mood, the road ahead and the time of the day though. Audi + Expressway + Late evening OR night ( personal favorite time of the day for driving ) calls for most songs by .... AC/DC, Poets of the fall, Iron Maiden, Linkin Park, Led Zeppelin ( select songs) ...some of Led Zep songs are much better suited for late night drives across the city. Also frequently listen to Nickelback , Rammstein & many many others. Infact, driving with great music is 1 of the top hobbies

What was the last thing you believed that you read in ToI? That rag is best suited to using for cleaning the mirrors on your car.

I play part-time in a band, and my vocalist always complains that we don't do Hatesong (the bassline is insane, am pretty sure I won't be able to do justice to those harmonics with the gear I have now!). Nice to meet a fellow fan here of all places

My Current fav - Brothers in Arms - DIRE STRAITS

I think Mark Knopfler has outdone himself. The lyrics need a special glance, specially the last paragraph ........

Now the sun's gone to hell
And the moon's riding high
Let me bid you farewell
Every man has to die
But it's written in the starlight
And every line on your palm
We're fools to make war
On our brothers in arms
