There was a thattu kadai near T Nagar Post office. Not exactly the place for neat freaks. But I am not sure it is still there. I visited Chennai approx 4 months back and I didnt find it there.
Any news on it?
Lees in Vannathurai, Besant Nagar. Is a good place to go for chinese.
Have you guys tried the WELCOME Hotel in Purasaiwalkam. It is near the Gangadeeswaran Koil street. It is absolutely good.
Very tasty sambar and it is crowded 24/7.
Very good Tiffins you get there and very correctly priced.
Is anyone aware of hotels which has special dishes for Iftar during Ramzan? I know Sea Shell might have.

If I'm not mistaken it's on the ECR, just before Kottivakkam. On the Left side when you're driving towards Pondy. It's in a hotel which is called Tidel something.

The one I'm talking about is along the ECR, at Kottivakkam, after Megamart and Europa (while going towards Pondy), on the left side

Tidel Olive is also along the ECR, just before the "Singapore Shoppe signal" - the first signal that you see after Tiruvanmiyur depot, while going towards Pondy. It's on the left side.
Both are run by the same owner AFAIK.
my favourite delicacy in the following hotels and a must try
hot fudge sunday at cream center
dum briyani, roomali kadak at copper chimney and the lime salt soda was the best here
milk shakes at ente keralam .. yes, too good here

Yup, Cream Center has pretty tasty sizzlers. Their pastas are quite ordinary though, my mother makes better ones.
Cream Center is awesome. Its got the best Veg Biriyani I've tasted. Sizzlers are decent although, Giorgio in Besant Nagar makes better ones.
For complete vegetarians - Cream Center is paradise. Although expensive.
Couple of more mallu joints:
1. Thanal - Opposite Kasi Arcade/GRT Grand days - cross road. We ate here. So so.
2. Today we happened to eat at "Kovalam Restaurant" on the left side as you drive from Vallavur Kottam on the Kodambakkam High Road to connect to NH Road, close to Archana sweets and there is a veg restaurant next to it to - Hotel Renuga Bhavan. Food excellent.
However 2 suggestions we wanted to give the owner, who just disappeared from our sights and so we could not and those are:
a. We had almost finished our Kerala meals when we were served with the additional dishes we had ordered for.
b. We had ordered for Chicken and we got Beef.
But the food was really good I would say.
Had been to
Decan Plaza yesterday located at Royapettah just before the fly over after TSM; Frankly this is the first time I'm hearing this name & felt some kind of lousy hotel. But then, the entrance surprised like a star hotel.
Food? Awesome, finger licking, mouth watering will do injustice. This is something more, heavenly, delighting food.
A must visit for all vegetarian lovers; Oh!!! I heard that they only serve vegetarian food. I was quite surprised to see a vegetarian star hotel :)
