Guys, I am literally drooling here on my desk!!

More than six years since I left Madras - Nostalgia makes me remember the lip smacking "sundal" and "vadai" at the road corners - especially near Panagal Park. And haven't tasted steaming "vazhakka bajji" for decades now.... The "boli" shops in W.Mambalam used to serve wonderful snacks...

Nalas Aappa kadai at Chromepet is very good. Though you have to wait for the appams, as they are instantly made, their appams with coconut milk and nethili fry are a must try.

Parking is a real pain if you are in a big car.

On the way from Airport parked in Balajee Bavan in Chrompet on the Highway.. Adecent restaurant with parking. Had a couple of Bondas and a Parotta. Both were nice and the ambience was also good.

'Tangerine' in Alwarpet is a nice fusion food restaurant. Though the decor is plain and uninviting the food certainly makes up for it. Also, for really tasty biriyani, try 'kalyana biriyani' on Peters Road by the flyover.

The best place to have Falooda in chennai is SNOFIELD pub, opposite to Music Academy, in the same complex as teh Palki restaurant.

Recently had been to Madurai and on the way had a lunch in New Sangeetha in Trichy. The south Indian meals was decent(Veg) in the new AC restaurant of theirs priced below 100.

they've just opened their 2nd branch at Ascendas, Chennai

Guys you should check out this restaurant just off khader nawaz khan road called tuscana. Its run by an italian chef and he also imports the ingredients from italy. The taste of italian food here at tuscana is truly amazing.

Guys, i visited the nei podi dosa stall near Brilliant tutorials and found the food to be excellent. Also there is a new restaurant named AL-Barack at Tambaram Sanitorium, found the taste to be very good, especially dont miss the dragon chicken here.

How is the cost arjun, hotel around knk road should be pretty expensive.

We used to go to gergio at besant nagar for an exotic cuisine.

Here again sappattu navan,

Had a decent meal in Mandap Restaurant in Madurai. It is almost on the other end opposite of Collage house Street. Seems Behind UC high School. Executive Non veg meal with Chicken curry and Seer fish fry. Good taste with a good ambiance.

Those who like American food(:D) should definitely try out 'Sparky's Diner' at Egmore.
The apple cobbler for dessert is amazing.
They have a dinner buffet on Fridays only.
Sparky's Diner - Never Trust A Skinny Chef

San's Kitchen at Shastri Nagar (close to Besant Nagar) serves some very good non-veg food.

On my last rather short trip to Chennai, had my dinner there.
Three of us had 2 parrotta's, 4 or 5 appams (VERY GOOD), Fish kebab, Chicken Kabab (Very Good) and some mutton gravy.

Bill was about 500.
Very spicy food. But it very good and excellent VFM.

If you like continental food check out Little Italy in Nungambakkam.
Meal for two will easily cross a thousand rupees but they are worth it.
The pasta is excellent.

Guys, were planning for a team lunch this week. Would like it to be a buffet, @ around 300Rs per head.

Our office is in DLF, Manapakkam (nr Porur) and we dont want to travel too far. Does any one have any good recommendations?

Sunday i visited Zaitoon , a restaurant at Besant Nagar, the ambience was good, but the food was not at all up to the mark and was a bit costly too. I would suggest everyone to avoid this.
