Check out Die Hard 4. Leave that crappy computer animated scene of the fighter shooting at the humongous tractor trailer. But otherwise the action sequences are really breathtaking. The one in the tunnel is really mind blowing. Of course there are many others. Fast paced movie for those who seek an instant dose of adrenaline.

I watched a movie called Rounders yesterday. 1998 movie starring Matt Damon, Edward Norton, John Turturro, John Malkovitch, Famke Janssen & Matrin Landau.

I was a really good movie with the right amount of drama, action and fun. Quite a few lessons in life to learn too. It revolves around the game of poker (Texas Hold'em mostly), the way of life of the semi-professional players (mostly grifters, heh heh) and the mob that feeds off them.

Matt Damon is obsessed with the game (he's very good at it) and the game has helped him finance most of his law education. He gets into trouble - on his own at first. He is later dropped into more trouble by another character in the movie. The movie takes a while to actually show the beginning of a plot, but it is really a story that needs quite a bit of background before the actual story can start. It is NOT a slow movie and is fun to watch till the end.

Edward Norton is awesome. He just slips right into character, and I think he did better than Damon in this movie. Matt Damon is good, but he plays the usual young non-action-movie hero -- a good guy, having various issues with life, not too tough, and gullible, but very very likeable.

Turturro is really nice as the typical wise man who already has it made, and is giving pointers to the hero. John Malkovitch doesn't get a lot of screen-time, but he is a very important character, and as usual, is great. Martin Landau is appears even lesser, but is still there, and in typical character. Famke Janssen probably could have been replaced with any nubile young thing and nobody would have noticed -- not to knock her talent, but its just that her character could have been done by most other actresses too

Watched Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix last week. Movies in no way do justice to the books. The movie was ok! That said, reading what could be the last episode of Harry Potter. Wonderful book, deathly hallows is.

OT, but I have to second this. Nice closure to the series. Not commenting more cause that would include spoilers.

McL: With reference to the above quote, why are you writing like Yoda (of Star Wars fame)?

Cash - Pretty crappy movie - very average,

expected to see some fancy cars but nothing that great in the movie, the best car in it was probably a 350z,

Still have Gandhi my father to watch this week.

Rounders is an excellent movie. I was gripped for the whole time Matt was playing cards. Infact I am liking the genre of movies matt works on.

Stranger than fiction is also a nice movie. Because of the movie, you may get little bored. but good narration from the background keeps you hooked on till the end.

Hot Fuzz : as put by nitrous & iraghava, good movie to watch.

Saw Cash today. What was the director thinking of adding those comic scenes in between. Whats up with this beard style of Ritesh deshmukh. He already looks stupid, this beard look was not going with his character at all.
Moive has lots of hot cars, but mainly you only see people posing with those cars, not having some high speed runs.
