Re: Song/s that have made an emotional impact

Help! Help! Help! I have been killing myself for past one week trying to remember a song from 90s (mid to late). It was a Hindi-Arabic pop. I think it featured long-haired Biddu in this music video riding an Enfield Bullet. That's all I remember about the song. I completely lost the name of the song or the artists who sang. When I hit Hindi-Arabic pop on youtube, lot of other songs popped up but not this. I am going bonkers trying to recollect. Can anyone please help? Does anyone remember this song from 90s. It is very sweet song.Pleeeeease!

Re: Song/s that have made an emotional impact

This song pulls a certain emotional chord in me. It's unbelievably amazing.

Overhead the albatross hangs motionless upon the air
And deep beneath the rolling waves in labyrinths of coral caves
The echo of a distant tide
Comes willowing across the sand
And everything is green and submarine
And no one showed us to the land
And no one knows the where's or why's
But something stirs and something tries
And starts to climb towards the light

Strangers passing in the street
By chance two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me
And do I take you by the hand
And lead you through the land
And help me understand the best I can
And no one calls us to move on
And no one forces down our eyes
And no one speaks
And no one tries
And no one flies around the sun

Cloudless every day you fall
Upon my waking eyes
Inviting and inciting me to rise
And through the window in the wall
Comes streaming in on sunlight wings
A million bright ambassadors of morning
And no one sings me lullabies
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I tore the windows wide
And call to you across the sky.

The song is called Echoes, by Pink Floyd. It's a 23 minute long track that's featured in the album Meddle, that dates back to the early '70s. Powerful lyrics and wonderful melody!

And can a song be emotional without the presence of Lyrics? HELL yeah! Listen to these three tracks and tell me you don't find it emotional:

Re: Song/s that have made an emotional impact

Since I pretty much follow the music than the lyrics, most songs by Enigma had an emotional impact on me, especially 'Return to innocence', 'The child in us'. Don't know exactly why, but Enigma music takes me to different depths.

The other topers in my list are

'Fix you', by Coldplay. The lyrics are slow enough to listen and soothen out a few nerves.

When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

'Marooned', 'Coming back to life' by Pink Floyd.
'Frozen' by Maddona.
'Noorie' remix in hindi.
'Bheegi bheegi raaton mein' in hindi.
'Puthu vellai mazhai' from Roja in Tamil.

@suhaas307, Couldn't agree more. This song is an epic culmination of everything that is "Pink Floyd". One of my friends wrote a blog post on this song. Have a read if you have some time! Link here

Re: Song/s that have made an emotional impact

A new devotional song is in town guys!

Madari - Coke studio
Description of this song on MTV
Clinton takes the word 'Madari' literally & builds this playful track around the Madari himself. The song goes on to insinuate that the turn of destiny in a man’s life happens thanks to the Madari’s all-knowing damru. With a strong percussive arrangement, this song talks about how no situation in life is in our control and we can only play along with the almighty, i.e. the Madari.

I guess the lyrics of this song leave it on us to decide who the "Madari" is. Vast majority will agree that it is "God". I disagree, I try to think of the "Madari" being my conscience. Listen to this and tell me if you agree.

My favourite part of the lyrics are
Teri rookhi sookhi, sookhi rookhi, khaake dekhaaa,
Har ek nivaalaa amrit laage,
Tere rehmokaram se, rehmokaram se, har phooti kismat uth ke bhaagey,
Jitna bharde khilaone mein chaabhi, utni hai uski raftaar,
Tu chalaata hai jeevan ka mela, tu hi suney hum sabki guhaar

Note: No copyright infringement intended, all credits belong to the artists and composers. Who can steal the show away from them anyway, they are just brilliant!!

Re: Song/s that have made an emotional impact

A song that really touches me is one made famous by a none too famous artiste - Karen Young. It's called Nobody's Child - a classmate in school used to strum the guitar and sing this often (quite a long time ago).
The song is about an orphan - the lyrics are pretty touching.

Re: Song/s that have made an emotional impact

My apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but found this thread on page 5 of searching for most suitable thread for this piece of music.

Remixed soundtrack of Für Elise and My Heart Will Go On. A traveller waiting for a flight played this in the meantime, and another passenger or his companion uploaded this.
