I think the 'spicyness' comes from the gravy side that the give OR the chicken/mutton/leg fry items mostly everyone orders.

But the biriyani in itself is pretty tame, nothing on the lines of the spicy Andhra types of Biriyani something that Meghna served a few years back before they became too mainstream.

This style is common in Kashmir and Bangladesh too. Tahari is synonymous with Pakki (no one refers to it as Pakki).

Wajid Ali Shah, the last nawab of Awadh was pensioned by east India company and living in exile at Kolkata.May be as Austerity drive,various Mutton recipes were substituted by beef and then by Potato.

The place am talking about is Al Amanah. The best rolls I have had, Iranian style and at great prices.
The place is in Kammanahalli Main Road and totally worth a visit for anyone who likes rolls.
The ambiance is not for family types, I would still suggest a take-away option.

Food: 8/10
Price:9/10
Ambiance:6/10
Service:7/10

I had posted the review sometime back.Not sure if i have posted the pics.

This place was jam packed with customers on a weekday.All rolls are priced at Rs 60 and the best is Chicken Roast roll.

A few days back, had been to the Aroy in JP Nagar. The ambiance was superb, open terrace and a live musician. The service is really good and the taste was good for the majority of the dishes we ordered. We had mainly ordered Thai, but you do have the option for Vietnamese/ Japanese/ Korean food too, though not as many dishes as in Thai.

Being a full moon day and with a cool breeze, the experience was all the more satisfying. Would rate 3.5/ 5

Not surprising. Going by the name, it should be a Thai restaurant. Aroy in Thai is tasty/delicious :)

Unless things have changed drastically in the last couple of years, the areas you are talking about are not the greatest places in Bangalore for eating out. Best bet is to go to nearby RT Nagar which has a good selection at all budgets.

In the KHB Road (the road parallell to the Sultanapalaya main road) there was one Kerala mess in one of the cross roads in Ranka Nagar. A couple of new small NV restuarants had come up but dont know whether they are still around . There are a few darshinis in the area of which the best used to be the one at Pushapanjali Theatre junction . And just up the road was another NV outlet which was half decent.

Overall I would not bother to waste too much time in the areas you mentioned . It is quite a good place to live, reeasonable too but alll the folks go to RT Nagar and suggest you do too, And a sincere advice ....some folks advertise home delivery of food. Suggest please try to see the kitchen first before you agree to take the food as I stayed briefly in one PG in the area which had also a food delivery service and the standards of cleanliness in the kitchen was far from acceptable.

Had been to Sattvam for their weekday buffet yesterday. As the name suggests this restaurant specializes in the Sattvik food. Awesome food, very elegant décor and amazing service! Total VFM @ 350 bucks + charges.

Personally, am not a fan of these Goli Vada Pav. For me the frozen vada cakes do not work at all. It lacks the punch of traditionally made vada and somehow fails to impress me. The quality of pav is also not that great for the price they sell them.

Been to Aroy for lunch. Must say the food is amazing! Other than the thai curry which I have had better in other places, every dish is delicious. Total value for money.

Most importantly this is an amazing place for taking kids along. The waiters are very friendly with kids!
