Team-BHP Upgrade Complete!!

Team,

This was the first time that we ran an upgrade through a live board! All the previous upgrades have seen the board being turned off for about a week, but who wants to spend a day without Team-BHP, right?! Plus a lot of you helped out with pointing out errors, as well as bringing forth some great suggestions. Thanks and much appreciated.

Here is a list of what has been accomplished:

New Server

Team-BHP has moved up to a Core 2 Duo spec server with a whopping 4 GB of RAM! With this upgrade, we are now equipped to manage over 2,500 concurrent online users. Suffice to say, the response time of this community will always be quick, especially with more and more users online at the same time.

New Software versions

All the software products that we use have been upgraded to the latest available versions. Translated = Better performance, efficiency and security.

New Skins

We have added 4 new skins, making it a total of 6 colour choices for you to view Team-BHP in! You may choose different skins from the drop-down menu on the bottom left of each page, or from your User CP.

Classifieds Section

The Team-BHP Marketplace just took a huge step forward! We believe that a dedicated classifieds section will make it far easier to list, buy and sell cars. Of course, the listings are entirely free to all.

Since so many of you posted threads for iPods & computers (which were eventually deleted

), we have accommodated this demand with a gadgets section too!

BHP Garage

The much requested “search feature” on the BHP Garage has been added. Also, a “previous” and “next” scrolling option has been incorporated, allowing you to easily surf through different photographs from a specific garage. Lastly, a picture preview will come up on the same screen if you click on the thumbnails.

There are several smaller enhancements that you will notice around the board, but too many of them to list. For instance, the multi-quote feature now allows 10 posts, "similar threads" display on the bottom left of each thread page, forum descriptions show up with each thread and so on.

I had noticed the image preview coming up in the gallery : that is a cool feature. Also the added skins are also good.

All the more reason to be happy to be part of such a great forum

Great , now I waste more time at office than before .Damn.

The skins hallow yellow is cool and I use it at home . Pleasant to eyes and environment .
Other skins are also good compared to standard blue and red . Saville is terrific .Thanks .

Noticed some of the changes this week.

T-Bhp bcomes even better. Congrats GTO and team.

@ Mods: there is another thread with the same name with small "c" in complete.

great news GTO and all those involved in this...

last 2~3 days i noticed the "similar thread" block at the bottom of the page and i was like 'dam, didnt notice this so far!!!'.

and to top all this, all this happened without any interruption! Just superb! :-) :-)

that is the general announcement forum. users cannot post replies there, hence this one.

you would have noticed GTO himself has placed a link to this thread over there.

Great improvements GTO. But the last one, of showing similar threads is so useful, that its turned out to be a bad idea. I have loads of work to do, and I still have not stopped browsing from one thread to the next.

Upgrade is welcome, however one question to GTO-When I click on classifieds, it comes up but in order to go back to main page, I have to click on back button on the browser. The Team-BHP has no option, on which I can click to go back to main forum.
I hope I am making myself clear on this.
