Just that! A run down shack that used to be always boarded up.
This time it was a functioning dhaba.

NIP, we all need to take inspiration from you. I have already started planning for a Khandala - Lonavala trip just for the purpose of photography.

Thanks, NIP.

This is a six kms 'rocky road' (jeep track) at Kharapathar (Himachal) that leads to a very beautiful, ancient, temple called the Giriganga Temple.

Last evening, went for a drive with a friend to a place near Devanahalli which is a protected Tamarind grove. This is supposed to be a heritage site and some of my friends are actively helping preserve this 30 odd acre woods. They're fighting for its survival in fact. There are ancient trees here aged between 600-800 years !! Unbelieveable isnt it !? The place is about 10kms to the back of Devanahalli.

Here's an extract from the web (http://www.kbbindia.org/heritage.html):
"Nallur, a small village near Mallepura on the way to Hoskote from Devanahalli has a very old sacred grove, total area spanning to about 30 acres, said to have been existing since the rule of cholas. The tamarind trees now existing are believed to be those sown seeds, grown into huge trees. There are about 130 old tamarind trees, aging to about 600 – 800 years! The largest tree is having the circumference of 50 feet and a height of about 20 feet. All these old trees have artistic warty markings on the stem. The yield from these tamarind trees is auctioned every year by the forest department.

Snakes like Spectacled cobra, Russell’s viper, saw scaled viper, rat snakes is commonly seen here. Birds like the red rumped swallow, Purple sunbird, Spotted dove, Small green bee-eater, Fan tailed fly catcher, Red vented bulbul, Red whiskered bulbul, Rose ringed parakeet, Coppersmith, Tailor bird, Indian robin, Common Indian myna, and house crow are generally seen here. According to the locals, five types of owls are believed to be roosting in the holes of the old trees.
"
Posting a couple of pics of trees along with the Scorpio, just for awareness. Hope its ok guys, didnt want to create a thread just for this.
