the one which me and mc had was pepper steak with mushrooms ( very well made) and it ensured mc's tongue did not sizzle out as well.

That is waterfront which is next to eat street. Awesome ambience but very very limited menu. Been there quite a few times.
.....
Mon-Thu, there is a cover charge of Rs.350 per person. Weekends it's Rs.500 per person. IMO, ridiculous since its a proper restuarant and not a lounge bar or a pub.
.....
I think your wrong. AFAIK, Waterside cafe is in Taj Deccan erstwhile Holiday Inn Krishna.

Waterside cafe is facing the water (if you can call it that) in the Taj Banjara, access is through the Lobby Bar. Underdeck is on a lower lever. Next to Underdeck is Kebab-e-bahar. IMHO the Taj Banjara has the best kitchens amongst the 3 Taj Hotels on that road.

Thanks guys for making me re-discover Yoko's. I went there once when they were opposite City Centre. Wifey got her chicken in some 15 minutes flat. I waited for about an hour for my steak to land up and left presuming that they were hunting in their freezer for some meat that was there since the last ice age. Never went back, for me a sizzler = steak or spare ribs. Last night they proved that they do serve steaks and good ones at that. The ghas phus that accompanies the steak was mushy and utterly avoidable.

Cheers,

Last night went for dinner at a new chinese place opened in Himayathnagar called "Ryan's Chinese and Thai".

It is tucked away in a lane opp to Minerva Coffee Shop. Hence, didnt know it opened a couple of months ago. They serve both Chinese and Thai. Since its relatively new and they could not drum up enough business yet, their Thai line is not yet completely active.

Ambience and food was quite decent.

Chicken Alam Pha ( Name is something like this, tough pronounciation): It's a snack and very very good
Boiled Noodles with Chicken,Mushrooms and Shezwan Gravy
Thumbs up
Fried Noodles dipped in honey with ice-cream

Bill : Rs.325

VFM restuarant and will go there again ( However, will go walking instead of my bike)

Niagara (ToliChowki)
Wikimapia - Let's describe the whole world!

Its bang opposite the Four Seasons complex near Mehdipatnam.
The restaurant has a decent seating area inside.
There is a wall between the chai biscuit part and the restaurant part.

6 of us had lunch there yesterday.
The restaurant only prepares Biryani here. Most of the the other gravies are brought in from the Chaderghat branch at about 11 Am everyday.
This means it is refrigerated and then heated up.
Make sure the heating up is done well.
The gravy was warm and the chicken was cold.

But the taste was awesome and we ordered the same dish again.

We had:
9 Tandoori Rotis (excellent)
2 dum ka chicken (I found it good, some of my friends loved it)
1 Chicken biryani (very little masala, dry chicken, just the way I like it)
1 thumbs up
4 chai (liked it)
4 bottles of mineral water.

Bill 570.
Service was very good.

Imran, good to know Niagara is living up to its reputation.

I like their Chaderghat branch the best and been there on innumerable occasions post 1am in the night and was served hot and freshly made biryani. And, the curry and rotis they serve at that time of the night was also pretty decent.

Also, closer to home, Niagara at Hyderguda is also pretty decent and again a visitor to this place at odd hours several several times. They serve awesome Ginger Chicken and Roti and decent biryani at that time of the night.

I think a few of the CUG folks from TBHP HYD have been with me to Niagara,Hyderguda at the dead of the night a couple of times. And, this is one of the places where you can get some grub until 3AM-4AM

Unfortunately, never seen the insides of a Niagara during day-timestupid:

After a long time got an opportunity to referesh this thread. :)

Last night went for dinner with family to "Aromas" which is above Kalanikethan Wedding Mall Somajiguda Circle.

Ordered the following :-
Veg Manchuria
Paneer and Spinach Rolls
Fruit Punches-2 No's
Corn Capsicum Curry
Gobi Paratha,Butter Nan and Roti
Mutton Biryani

Except Veg Manchuria which was just about Ok'ish, all other dishes were very good.

Total Bill : ~ Rs.900

There are two restaurants in Madhapur that I was willing to check out. Did any of you already visit these places? Any input?

Even I would vouch for that place---both for ambience and food. I visited with family 2 weeks ago, and the bill was around 600/-. Don't remember the items, though---it was one non-veg and one veg-curry, with rotis and soup, apart from soft drinks.

I can give an idea about the Veg Food in both the restaurnats.

Shanghai Chef has got a decent Menu. The Veg soups are not that good. Highly spicy and got an Indianizing touch to them :). But the food is good and they serve chinese and Thai food.

Wonton's Veg Manchaw soup is the best in Hyderabad. There is not much to choose for veggies though.

Can you list out dishes that you found good? Also, some pricing details would be helpful for others on the thread.

Where is the exact location of these joints in Madhapur?
