Went to Mainland China yesterday with Family after a long time.
Items had
  1. Veg Dimsums
  2. Veg Springroll
  3. Crispy Chilly Corn
  4. 2 Cantonese Soup
  5. 1 Lemon and Coriander Soup
  6. 2 Bottles of Water
  7. 1 Budweiser
  8. 1 Veg Soft noodles
  9. 1 Stir Fried Vegetables
  10. 1 Veg gravy dish (Forgot the name)
  11. 1 Mixed Meat Soft Noodles
  12. 1 Chicken Gravy Dish (Forgot the name)
Total Bill : Rs 2828/-
Verdict: Service seems to have worsened from before. Excessive salt in some dishes. Didn't enjoy the experience.

P.S: I was surprised to see them still charging 12.5% VAT even though its been reduced to 4%. On confronting the manager, he had no clue and his implied tone was "We will charge 12% even if its 4% so you better pay up"

When will these idiots understand that in today's world word or mouth spread faster thru the hands of internet.

Negative publicity will linger on for ever.

On a different note. I had my lunch today at the Nihal's competition.
I don't even remember the name of this joint but its the one right before Nihal foods, Madhapur.
Went there because I was bored with Nihal and wanted to just check this out.

I am not disappointed with this joint.
In fact I found the place quite decent and the food quiet ok.

I ordered the limited thali. Rs 55/-
The same is available in the unlimited version for a little more.
A Guide: Eating out in Hyderabad/Secunderabad/Cyberabad-thali.jpg

That is 4 rotis.
daal, just about ok. prefer Nihal.
paneer masala, a little too sweet for my liking.
diluted raita with cucumber and onion, nice
mixed veg masala, was ok
allo subzi, not exactly my favourite
pickle
sweet, the rava+coconut ladoo. decent.

also one glass of chaach.

The place is quite airy and with such nice weather, I sat in the open.

For Rs.55 bucks, the best place i had thali is at "Hotel Punjab" in Abids.

Try their thali and tell me if you don't like it, i will stop visiting this thread:uncontrol

When in Abids, take a left immediately after Bata showroom towards Tilak Road and keep going towards the Ramkote signal.

While your on this route, you will find a big church on your right hand side and Hotel Punjab is right opposite to this church.

Ask for their special thali and you will be amazed to see such good quality food which is served so hot, it will scald your fingers if you ain't careful.

I have been there 3-4 times and each time i loved their special thali. And presentation is much better than the picture in post #722

This place is called Asal. I go there often mainly on days when my friends are veg as it is a pure veg joint. I agree that it is a pretty decent joint, esp the unlimited meal for Rs 60. But I prefer their main outlet at Madhapur main road, as this Hitech outlet has many flies. Approach road is pretty bad as well!

A funny/weird incident happened last night around 1:30AM. After a party 4 of us decided to have some grub and after checking out Garden in Sec'bad ( they needed 30 minutes for biryani to be ready) we decided to visit Paradise which only had parcel section open. Our next pit stop was at Hotel Niagara at Hyderguda for dinner.

We ordered Ginger chicken,Butter chicken, Roti and Naan and then finally 2 biryani's and when we had just finished our dinner, the cops invaded the place and asked all of us to immediately leave the place.

They didnt even allow us time to pay the bill, they practically forced everyone to leave without paying the bill ( the cop himself said, dont pay bill leave NOW)

So it was a FREE DINNER last night, courtesy Hyderabad Police

Moral of Story : Restuarant owners need to pay hafta to cops promptly else they stand to lose a lot via. example of what happened last night

Had Dinner a few days back at Tiwari Bros
  1. Poori Alu Matar
  2. 2 Pav Bhaji
  3. 2 Bread Pakora
  4. 2 Samosa
  5. Gatta Masala Paratha
  6. Raj Kachori
Bill: Rs 277/-
Verdict: Good UP style Chat. Will go their again.

The Fish Counter at Spar, Somajiguda.

The fish is fresh and the prices reasonable.
Avoid Sunday late mornings as it gets quite crowded.

The store opens at 10 AM.
The best time for fish on Sunday is 10:05 AM. :)

They also have an elaborate meat, chicken and beef counter.
Different cuts and the price depends on the cut.

Frozen kababs and marinated ready to cook chicken is also available.

Khairthabad X Roads next to Concorde Motors. You can park inside the Concorde Motors compound.

Visited 99 Dosa's on RajBhawan Road after a long time. This was my 4th / 5th visit to the place and everytime I had a different type of Dosa. Allegedly they have about 140 odd types of Dosa's.

Chatpata Cheese Dosa
Scramble Dosa
Mint Cheese Onion Dosa
1 Bottle of water

Bill: Rs 298/-

They also have unlimited dosa plans for single and family :)
