Thats the beauty of this community. I am dead sure that such personal queries would really be tossed around and would be full of jokes or disrespectful suggestions in most of the other forums. But somehow this forum has respectful members and amazing moderators both of whom have a wonderful outlook towards life. I consider myself lucky to be part of this community.

No offense meant. If found, kindly ignore them. Trying some permutations and combinations to get one good name

Mrunmay or Mrinmay (as Bengalis pronounce it) literally means "made of clay" and figuratively it means God. The feminine gender is Mrinmayee.

When faced with the responsibility of naming my daughter I felt it was like a huge burden of responsibility on me. I felt sorry for the poor child who would have no control on this most personal possession of her of which she would be proud for the rest of her life.

After lot of deliberations I gave her the old fashioned name of Geetanjali because I thought it would be nice if she grew up to be a singer. I have been much ridiculed by friends and relatives for choosing such an old fashioned name but I didn't really care. After all Tagore got a Nobel with his Geetanjali. Let me see what I get with my Geetanjali

No offense taken at all. I am sure that all members are posting in good faith. And if i am not mistaken its Rig veda and not rick

I don't know what Prakal means though. Thanks for the suggestions anyways.

Congratulations on the new born. God bless the child.

We know someone who has named their son "OM" and their daughter "Sri". Short and sweet :-)

My other choices would be:
1) Aprameyo
2) Agastya
3) Rudra

In today's world, Aman is a good name.

I could not name either of my two boy's Aman, as then tehir initials would have been A.S.S

Cheers!

Congratulation on the arrival of your little Prince.
My sister came up with these names. If you could give a perticular meaning of the name that your looking for or an alphabet it would make things easy. My sister loves finding names and has shortlisted over a hundred. Hope it helps. She also mentioned that you should ask the pundit for the alphabets that suit the child according to his birth time.

Advik - unique
Agrim -always ahead
Agraj - leader
Ahan - dawn
Amal - Pure
Anagh - sinless

Just curious to know the difference between Roshane and Roshan. Is it something like Shop and Shoppe? Or Madam and Madame?
please educate me.

@speedy: His 'rashi' is 'Dhan' so the letters according to the Hindu culture would be 'Dh' (both variants), 'Bh' and 'F'. I thought that getting a new modern ring to a boy's name would be difficult with these alphabets. So we are willing to go beyond the rashi and get him any name that we feel may suit him and he may grow up to like.

Also, some people suggest naming him after the 'nakshatra' (birth star) that he was born in according to which the names should start with Ye, Yu, Ba, Bi, Yo, Bhi, Bha which again are a bit dicey.

But your sister's help would definitely be appreciated. Please ask your sister to keep pouring her suggestions. If she does not mind can she send across the 100 names that she has apparently shortlisted?

Congratulations Kalpesh!

Hey how about:
Jayesh - JAgruti and KalpESH? Its a gujju name plus no probs wherever he goes in the world as theyll call him Jay!

Yohan - Not a gujju name but starts with Yo.
Meaning: Originally Hebrew language name "Yohanan" (meaning "God is merciful")

Dhairya: Simple name but very difficult for foreigners to pronounce!

Best of luck for the name searching!
