We had a manager named Vidyut once. A teammate of his sent an email to him, blindly accepting changes proposed by Microsoft. Poor teammate nearly lost his job!!
hmmm, so that's why people send me mails addressed as idiot.

Also, if Vidyut were to travel to the US his name would not sound the same when pronounced by the americans.

My name was changed to Vidat when I reached there. Everytime I introduced myself people would ask me how to pronounce my name which was a futile attempt as they would never get it right. After that I realised if you can't beat them join them. When they would ask how my name was pronounced, I would say Vidyut and it is pronounced as idiot with a V in front.

In asian and european countries it is pronounced as Vidget (pronounced midget with a V)

Ps: after that explanation I can rest assured no one will keep their child's name Vidyut.

NIVAAN PATEL, sounds good too.

I love my name too: Munjal (its very unique, thanks to my parents), but it wont go with your surname

To be honest, I find it quite amusing that people call you VeeDee also.

Kalpan is nice, but quite common amongst Gujaratis. My cousin in Surat's name is Kalpan and he is quite popular in my circle as he is a doc !

Definitely - even if i don't name him 'Swayam' - you would always be welcome as a fellow TBHPian brother.

Right now - I have shortlisted the following names. Unless some more suggestions pour in, it's going to be from amongst these 4.

Vedant
Nihar
Parth
Swayam

After 35 days, I gave in and went ahead with my wife's first choice.

So, now we have a future T-BHP member 'Vihaan'

For those interested in the meaning, it's a sanskrit word for 'dawn'. Please do not poing out glitches in the name as I am NOT going to change it now and I have started liking it.
