Kalpesh, how about the name Vidyut? We even have a DBHPian by that name, and i feel it sounds rather nice.

Thanks @brabus - i am sorry but jayesh would be a definite NO as i don't think so there is going to by any gujjubhai in the world who would not know a Jayesh in his/her circle!

Dhairya is definitely in contention with me but wifey has rejected it outright (too common was her grouse). Also, i am least worried about foreigners pronouncing his name. By the time he is 20 and ready to travel the world, I am sure India would be a super power and US folks would be naming their kids keeping in mind that Indians can pronounce it well! Don't be surprised to see a 'Jayesh Jackson-Patel' being born to an all american family in 20 years time

Ahhh naming newborns...Well I'm gonna try and give you some modern names [Just 21 so yeah]

Romnesh - AKA Roms
Rak**** - Raks
Bihan [Since it matches the star thing]
Dharshan - Dharsh [Lots of successful people with this name]
Dharsh

Wait a min, it doesn't really matter does it. From previous posts I've gathered that your last name is Patel...SO no matter what you name him, he's always going to be know an Patel in college...[At least that's how it is today...]

EDIT: Oh yeah the above is a joke! But yeah at the same time it's true...

I am not taking the mickey, but I'd like to see someone name their kid "Mogambo". Tried this with two newborn nephews but for some reason, their parents didn't take it too seriously- can't understand why.

Anyway , Congrats on the newborn.
I haven't got too much in the way of boy names so can't help you out.
My choices from everyone else's names would be

Jay, Aarav, Vedant, Neil, Ved. I am somehow biased towards short names.

Darn - i never thought about it that way. It would be one of the best gifts that he can get when he is 18 !!

But wait, I am sure that he is going to be a petrolhead and is going to find this forum much earlier than that.

I'm not too good at this name thing, though might have to do it soon... so i'm keenly watching this thread..

Before you do that, type this name in a word doc, and once Word makes the red squiggly line under it, right click on the word to see the first suggestion.

We had a manager named Vidyut once. A teammate of his sent an email to him, blindly accepting changes proposed by Microsoft. Poor teammate nearly lost his job!!
