Re: Best Movies, Documentaries, games, etc to Showcase your hi-def plasma/lcd & HTS

Mad Max Fury Road, on BD and Atmos is spine tingling. The opening scene sets a blistering pace, from both the audio and video point of view, and there are very few moments that let the tension ease. The clash in the finale is worth the price of the BD alone. Buy it! (Online is fine but, BD is packed with almost 50 gigs of content and is a richer experience in comparison to Netflix)

That's true, BD would have slightly better rendition of the UHD, better sharpness and details. However, streaming is not very far behind these days. Devices like ATV4K, with the codecs used, gives a great image, I have heard with just half the bit-rate of the BD player, codecs on ATV4K doing decent job and the difference is not huge, most people may not be able to distinguish in common conditions. BD still does better job any day, in the current times.

Some of the titles I enjoyed recently (ref. streaming media)

> Our Planet - this is must, the nature truly comes alive with Sir David Attenborough's narration - also enjoyed the 'our planets - behind the scenes' episode, dancing of the bird that has just showed up is wonderful too
> Gravity - some of the visuals are really amazing, great blacks with the beautiful earth in the background
> A quiet place - Great visuals, also liked it because of the audio it has
> Bird Box - another great one because of the its audio in DA
> Pearl Harbor and Saving Private Ryan again for the amazing audio
> Haunting of the Hill House - I observed some great black levels on this one
> The Highwaymen - Great visuals and movie, liked the 1934 Ford they drive and other cars in the movie
