Hmmm interesting how quite a few TBHPians here support not hurting the terrorists. I dont.

But yes what I do think is that India too should setup something like Guantanamo where the terrorists are shipped and then mentally disintegrated to the extent that they lose their mind. So we won't physically hurt them but then kill them mentally.

Not really required... when we are having porous borders...One can easily smuggle the stuff into the country from Nepal and Bangladesh...earlier also these things have happened.
and in this case it came through sea..

WARNING

Folks

Do not start taking politics/ names etc over here. Beyond the fact that these are despicable terrorists, we know nothing else so far.

We are all upset but please take time and thought in posting. We do not want to lock this thread as this is our only link to us all in this troubled time

Most probably, they will be injured... and ...

Won't an Indian doctor be treating these gun-toting, grenade-chucking homicidal madmen in hospital? What sort of motivation must that be? How Indian is (s)he? Or human?

Won't an Indian nurse be nursing these gun-toting, grenade-chucking homicidal madmen in hospital? What sort of motivation must that be? How Indian is (s)he? Or human?

And if they are arrested alive,

Won't an Indian cook be cooking for these gun-toting, grenade-chucking homicidal madmen in jail? What sort of motivation must that be? How Indian is (s)he? Or human?

The answer is, my dear ... civilisation. Democracy. Rule of law.

We are a civilised society. Therefore, we are democratic.

Because we are a democracy, we have a constitution.

Because we have a constitution, we have the rule of law.

And the terrorists are not terrorists, but only crime suspects till proved otherwise. Because we are ruled by the law. The constitution. Because we are a democracy. Because we are a civilisation.

Respect the law. Even if the other person does not. Byepassing the legal process has results like this the Gujrat carnage.

Firstly i think squeezing info is not easy as in most cases they have very little knowledge knowing the fact that they might be caught, though i agree some info can be gathered.
Teach their clan a lesson??? they will never learn...i wonder how many have been caught....what most can be done is extract as much info you can get from them and then do the needful...

Guys - what is the aim of such terror attacks?
1. To spread distrust and shake our confidence in our government and our system
- Let us not allow them to win on this front
2. To increase suspicion within Indians as a whole among various communities.
- Let us not allow them to win on this front
3. To attempt to show the world that India is an economic basket case and not worth doing business with.
- Let us not allow them to win on this front
4. To inflame public opinion so much that there is a backlash of incidents/riots between religions.
- Let us not allow them to win on this front

Let's commit to living our lives in the same open and democratic way we have always had. Let us be proud that India has remained a free and democratic country for last 50-odd years, and the only one in Asia with such a record. Let's strive to elect persons to represent us who are clean and efficient, not someone who inflames passions and anger for his/her own power. And above all let's lead our lives with head held high so that the terrorists get not a shred of satisfaction that they have subdued us.

Why cant we too implement something like the patriot act that the US has.. No court case ... simply shipped off to Guantanamo.
For those of you who say these terrorists should be kept alive and tortured.. what are the torture methods found in our jail? oily food and special stuff and maybe later a political ticket.. If that is torture.. they should rather be terminated.

Actually, each one is entitled to an opinion regarding punishment.

I find it more interesting how there are Team-BHPians who are willing to shout "KILL!! KILL!!" on the thread and think it will make a positive difference.

Who guards the sea... The Navy and Radars that scan for any vessel that comes into Indian waters.... what were they doing... sleeping most probably.
In anycase my point highlighting the 'bribe' was that you might not know how big a tragedy it may turn into as you take it for a seemingly harmless cause.

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.
Well, I think its time for that now. Its time to take out 2 eyes for every one that the terrorist takes out. It might sound henious, but a terrorist must be made a public example of torture, flog them skin them in a public stadium and then slit them and then let them bleed. It should be publicly displayed to the world as an example of what happens to a terrorist. Im sure it would scare anyone to be one.
Making prisons for them and giving them lawful treatment is a waste of public money.
Im sure this will result in a few innocents being targeted too. but that is a small price compared to a terrorist opening fire randomly in a public area and holding people hostage.
The Gandhi age is over and this is ample example of that.
Democracy secularism and all these fancy words can come later. First comes Justice.
And peace was not made for the sake of justice but justice was made for the sake of peace(Martin luther king)
First bring order and then talk of secularism etc etc.
