Powai/Hiranandani working as usual. Pleasantly there was very less traffic on JVLR (IIT-gandhinagar stretch). That may well be one of the worse stretch of tarmac in terms of traffic in India!

But the reason behind the empty roads is tragic. Give us traffic anyday over what is happening right now.

Whatever is happening in Mumbai is extremely shocking and disturbing. I don't know what else would it take for government to wake up? Operation of such a massive scale and no hint of it to Intelligence guys is extremely disturbing.

Has government got used to such repetative attacks on India? You really do not see much happening except for few condolence messages by Home Minister, Prime Minister and the Cheif Minister.

I hope and pray that everyone in Mumbai is safe and government acts tough and take stringent steps to avoid further occurences of such increasingly fierceful repetative incidents. Also my urge to all fellow citizens to act wisely in such a situation and help in maintaining law & order.

Stay safe

Just remembered the movie mumbai meri jaan here they show to a certain extent police also are helpless due to taking orders from politicians. Also how in a wednesday, naseeruddin shah getting hints & PoA from television news channels. Pity the families of all all those affected be it the police, ATS, tourists, hotel/ hospital visitors, patients, hotel/hospital staff, NSG, RAF, SF, commoners etc. Just pray for a miracle that it wakes up the authorities once and for all.

This is shocking and very sad. Hope for Mumbikers Normaly will return fast.

Looks like all soft measures are off, the only country who have a semblence of conrol on terrorism is Israel who have shown that pre-emptime strikes would twart terrorism. Perhaps we a Mossad to penetrate and destroy; extreme, but effective. Do we have any alternatives left?

When yesterday I saw thethread, I thought that it was just a minor incident, but today morning realized it was huge.
We are speechless and more than that we have to develop a tolerance towards these incidences till our authorities become strict.

Sad day. What do you expect when the Union Home Minister says proudly that there have been less number of such attacks during their tenure. Isn't one too many ?

Is it?
Are you really serious?

Do you know how it is in Israel? Where each and every civilian lives under constant threat to his life 24/7.
Its almost like Kashmir there.

Please don't propose something similar for Bombay.

Ofcourse, its not that we should just sit, twiddling our thumbs, and watching the world burn around us.
But the "pre-emptive" strikes that you are proposing ... is that a solution?
or a tit-for-tat response?

Anyone here watched Vantage Point?
American Pres (more so in the Hollywood movies) are usually pretty arrogant and dumb, but in that movie, he says something which makes sense: These guys want us to react. And whole point of our effort/exercise is lost.
We don't have to act strong, but to be strong. (there is a subtle but big difference between these two).

Once again its proven we are leaving in a country w/o any intelligence whatsoever. I am sick and tired of the daily stories of failure of our glorified police force and internal affairs. Yetserday's incident is and epitome of all failures. With so much of taxes paid by average Indians, which is royaly used for " aiyasshis of the political nerds, last thing they deserve is a bullet in their heart while returning home from a hard days work.
Hope evryone in TBHP from Mumbai is safe.... God help India
