I admit to be a sunglasses kinda guy, my little collection includes
1) 2 pairs of rayban aviators ( slightly different frame construction)
2) a pair of poloroids for driving ( similar to the aviators but much classier)
3) a pair of oakley Gascans
3) my latest and most prized possesions a pair of retro ermengildo zegna shades.
On the glasses end of the spectrum I own 2-3 pairs of no name frames ( ok, they have brands but I cant recall) and my favorite my ralph Lauren frames!
Got these Ray-Ban Aviators
Had 3 such Aviators but in Green shades.. lost all!!!
Looking for Aqua Blue Aviators now, any idea if Aviators has those shades?

Yup, raybans do come in a shade of blue, not sure if thats the exact color you are talking about. Used to have one of those ages back before it was nicked by the mechanics at a car dealership.
Yeah, I forgot them in the car when i gave it for servicing!
:Frustrati
I have read that blue provides less protection from radiation because it passes blue which is close to violet and ultraviolet frequencies of the spectrum.
I have couple of Armani's in dark black and one in light brown. Not sure about the model though, just took what i design i liked.
I own a Rayban and few Dockers models. I don't wear any of them because I am not used to wearing sunglasses and feel much freer without them.
I own a Porsche Design P8129 prescription glasses which I am planning to fix with transition lenses.
Also, my most recent acquisition has been Prada 57L sunglasses that I bought just last weekend in Delhi. I was a bit apprehensive to the tag 'Unisex' put by the salesman at Sunglass Hut but, just couldn't make my mind up with other available choices.
Any of you could probably help... please:
Added 3 more sunglasses to my collection:
- Georgio Armani
- Emporio Armani
- Dolce & Gabbana
If I was in the market for a fashionable suit I might look for a name like Armani, in buying sunglasses, I avoid such things like the plague. What can they do other than inflate the price?
Better the money is spent on optics, not labels!
I need to buy powered sunglasses. Anything specific to look out for? I know I cant go for curvy frames as the lens might not fit properly. Anything else that needs to be remembered?
Can I get polarization treatment done for the lenses?

1.You can get drivewear from Essilor.
Get it with the Crizal coating. Cuts glare and reflections to a certain extent.
2. Skypol lenses from Carl Zeiss.
I would buy the Skypol from Carl Zeiss. They are two lenses fused together with the best polarization filter.
Available in three colours, Fun, Road and Sport.
Fun is light brown, road is dark brown and sport is black.
You can have them fitted in some of the regular goggles, Ask your optician to have the same lenses in an 8 base curve. This is the maximum curve possible on prescription lenses.
I hope the mods don't mind me doing this, this is just something that I can do for the bhpians.
I can get you guys the any of the following brands for a flat 25% discount, you need to just PM me the model number and the colour code,
1.Carrera
2.Gucci
3.Emporio Armani
4.YSl
5.Stella Mc Cartney
6.Hugo Boss
7.Max Mara
8.Pierre Cardin
9.Oxydo
10.Blue Bay
11.Safilo
12.Dior
13.Giorgio Armani
14.Boucheron
15.Bottega Veneta
16.Valentino
17.Diesel
18.Oliver
Cheers,

Exactly, you hit the nail right on the head there sir.
Oh I got Oakley Bottlecap (?), Montefrio & a OILRIG
I have a few of them, but currently I wear Persol and I believe they are the best I've had so far, by far (in terms of the lens, optics, vision whatever). This will cost you anywhere between $200-$400 depending on the style and the store you buy from.
Serengeti is not available in India. Their photo chromatic technology is one of the best in the world.
The Bolle range of sunglasses are equally good, unfortunately not available in India.
Well I've been a spec wearing nerd most of my life (5.5 in one eye and 5.5 in the other). About 2 years ago I switched to contacts and bought my first pair of shades, a
Rayban Predator RB 3194. Its been my first and only loved pair.
Since then I've bought a Blue lens Fast Track, been gifted 2 - another Fast Track and an Aviator design sunglass of a strange brand called "Chivas"! But the Predator continues to be the most comfortable pair of shades, so I wear it always. I wear it during driving, playing, hikes - what not. Always been comfortable, and the external lacquering still shows no sign of wear.
PS: And for info, my Tbhp handle was
NOT inspired by my shades:D!
